SoSS #261 - M is for Manly

Greetings and salutations snarky friends, thanks for visiting to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Our challenge theme for the next month is M is for Manly.

I went back to a stamp set and class (one of my faves) from the March 2023 Crop & Create with a base stamp set from LRDS Creative, added my "Walter" image from Riley & Co and a snarky sentiment from Frantic Stamper Inc and my super old (maybe the oldest other than swiss dots??) happy birthday embossing folder.

As always we would love for you to join the sisterhood and get your green on!

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS Blog.

While you are there please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

Until next time...best wishes, warmest regards!

Hey Dude!

Super excited that both SHOPPING OUR STASH and SEIZE THE BIRTHDAY  have masculine challenges on right now.

I picked up the "Party Animal" stamp, stencil and die set by Concord & 9th not that long ago and had yet to break into it.

I always struggle making dude cards (why is that??) so I thought these ones would work for lots of things depending on the colour scheme (I also struggle not to use pink and purple all the time lol).

I love the reverse stamping of the sentiment stamp, the ink stamps the black background and the text stays the colour of the cardstock underneath.

The colours of balloon dogs in the background required me to number the colours in sharpie on the first stencil and use lots of sticky notes for masking.

This card is almost a direct CASE of the sample card at Two Scrapbook Friends (which might have been why I bought it???)

Entering this card into the following challenges:

Until next time, best wishes, warmest regards...

SoSS #215 - M is for Masculine

Greetings friends.

Before we get to the challenge, we have some news to share and we are afraid it is not of the happy sort.

Our beloved friend and sister Lindsey passed away this week.

As a sisterhood, we are heartbroken and devastated.

Many of us have known Lindsey going back to the days of the Drunken Stampers, which was the birthplace of what became the sisterhood of snarky stampers.

If you knew Lindsey, you knew that she was kind, thoughtful and funny.

The world has lost a beautiful and creative soul.

Please join us in sending much love and many hugs to her friends and family as they feel the impact of this loss.

We won't be crowning Queens or Princesses for the last challenge, Christmas in July, or this one.
We know you will understand - our thoughts and hearts are with Lindsey and her family at this time.

While our hearts are not in it...we bring you this challenge - M is for Masculine.

Shite I used to make these cards:
  • Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
  • Monsieur Vintage Illustrations (Pretty Little Studio)

  • Monsieur design paper (Pretty Little Studio)
  • Hey Boy designer chipboard stickers (Basic Grey)

Greetings and salutations crafty pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH

Yours truly is hosting this week, so bundle up!!  We are heading to the Great Outdoors!

That means we want to see something outdoors or nature related on your project.

I used the super cute Happy Trails collection from Simple Stories to create this fun card which has already gone out in the mail to wish Happy Birthday to a special dude in my family.

I hand stitched around the edge of the design paper to create a fun little border, then I picked at the thread a bit to try and give it a bit of a fuzzy appearance.

Happy Little Stampers - January ATC Challenge - Masculine

Hey friends! Happy New Year and wishing you the very best for 2020!

I am over the moon excited to have been invited to be part of the Happy Little Stampers ATC team for the first half of 2020!

Our theme for January is Masculine.

Here is what I made using the Deep Blue Sea collection from Carta Bella.

Shite I used to make this ATC:

  • Cardboard ATC base
  • Deep Blue Sea 6x6 paper pack (Carta Bella)
  • Deep Bue Sea element stickers (Carta Bella)
  • Blueprint Sketch distress ink (Tim Holtz)
I cut the sentiment from the shiny cover sheet that you get with paper kits, you know the one that shows you the papers etc. that are inside...yep, I am that frugal!!

We would love for you to take up the challenge and join us!

You can find all the details for the challenge on the Happy Little Stampers Blog.

While you are there please share some crafty love and comments with the rest of the ATC team!

Let's Hear It For The Boys!

Taking some time off work this week has allowed me to enjoy the sunshine AND spend some time in my craft room!

With father's day this weekend, I wanted to focus on some masculine cards, which, let's be honest, I hardly ever do, but I love them when I make them!

This first one I made specifically for a special three year old dude in my life.
I love to send him and his sister random cards in the mail.
Who doesn't love to get happy mail right??

This one is my father's day template card for 2019.

For both of these cards I was able "shop my stash" and use some design papers and stickers from a card kit that I've had for more than a few years featuring the MAX collection by Bella BLVD.

Shite I used to make these cards:

  • Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
  • White cardstock (Fireworks)
  • "Max" design paper & stickers (Bella BLVD)
  • Ground Espresso, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Smokey Slate ink (SU)
  • Masculine Graphic Tee stamp & die set (My Favourite Things)
  • 1 3/8" circle punch (SU)
I'd like to enter these cards into the following challenges:

My immediate family (other than my mum)  is composed entirely of dudes (even my dog!!!) so I am always in need of dude suitable card...including Valentines.

Shopping Our Stash #383 - Happy Birthday Dude

Greetings & salutations crafty friends!!

Thanks for stopping by today to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH

This week, once again, I am your host...our theme is Happy Birthday Dude

One can never have too many happy birthday cards in one's stash, but if you are like me, I hardly ever make dude cards, I am always scrambling to find or make a masculine birthday card.

I liked how the background paper has almost a camo look to it, very dude-suitable.

Although this was a quick and easy make, I am happy with how it came out (better than I was expecting!!)

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Woodland Winter design paper (Bo Bunny)
  • Happy Birthday embossing folder (ProvoCraft)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along.

SoSS #119 - M is for Monster

Greetings and salutations snarky pals!!

Thanks for stopping by to visit with EDNA & THE SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS!!

With Halloween quickly approaching (YAY!!) our next few challenges will have spooky themes, starting with M is for Monster.

In an ongoing effort to use some of the many accumulated card kits I have, I went back to a May 2014 kit (yep really) for this one.

Super happy I was able to use up some scraps from the kit design paper using punches and dies. I knew I kept all those little pieces for a reason (UGH).

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Be Different design paper, ephemera pack & ticket roll (Fancy Pants)
  • Polariod die (Paper Smooches)
  • Fishtail & Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
  • Large & small heart punches (SU)
  • 1 3/4 circle & 1 1/4 circle punches

SoSS #113 - O is for Over the Hill

Greetings and salutations snarky pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

Poor ole Edna...she has crested the hilltop and is headed down the other side...I can empathize with feeling O is for Over the Hill

Edna's challenge to you is to make a project that represents someone who is...well...let's just say experienced at life shall we??

Hmmmmm I think I may have to be careful about who I give this card to...I am sure not everyone appreciates it's snarkiness...ha ha ha ha...of course that only makes it THAT much better!

Believe it or not, this is the FIRST time I have cracked open and used this particular stamp set from Paper Issues.

It has so many snarky birthday sentiments, it was perfect for this challenge!

Sadly I think the set has been discontinued because there was a spelling mistake in one of the stamps (oooops).

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Black cardstock (Recollections)
  • Smoky Slate cardstock (SU)
  • Hexagon embossing folder (SU / Sizzix)
  • Oval dies
  • Fishtail / Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Walter stamp (Riley & Co)
  • Ahh Real Birthday stamp set (Paper Issues)
As always we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

Here's what I made for the challenge, all I need now is someone with a 5th birthday coming up LOL

You'll have to excuse the waterspots on the card, I was determined to take the picture outside and we were in the middle of a freezing rain / ice storm over the weekend. All that white you see...not snow...solid ice! Fun times in the middle of April huh??

SoSS #105 - Z is for Zig Zag

Edna is a fan of chevron, or the more commonly known - zig zag!

This week the sisterhood are zigging and zagging all over the place!

Be sure to check out all the awesome projects over on the SoSS BLOG

I knew the sentiment and image I wanted to use for my card, then went off in search of zig zag design paper, turns out, I have a whole whack of it....who knew??

I tried to create a zig zag faux stitched border, but it went a bit wonky round the corners.

Shite I used to create this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Happy Campers design paper (We R Memory Keepers)
  • Walter stamp (Riley & Co.)
  • Say It Like It Is stamp set (Dylusions)
  • Ground Espresso distress ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Early Espresso marker (SU)
  • Paper piercer & mat (SU)

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

Thanks so much for stopping by today to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH and it's a gooden...this week we are celebrating birthdays.

Dontchya just love it when a challenge comes at the perfect time?

This card will be heading out in the mail soon to my cousin who has a birthday at the end of the month.

I usually like to make him really rude cards, but I've been told that the F word is out now that his daughter can read...sheesh...some people are just no fun!

So here's his profanity-free-manly-birthday-for-a-dude card.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • Black cardstock and design paper (Recollections)
  • Walter stamp (Riley & Co)
  • Sentiment Sampler stamp set (Paper Smooches)

We are ringing in 2018 by celebrating what is old and not so old in our stash (and be sure to tell us what it is!)

I think Lovely as a Tree might have been one of the very first stamp sets I ever bought, it's not even the clear mounted one!!

I like to rock it old school with my wood mount SU stamps ha ha ha ha

I need to add a few more masculine birthday cards to my stash, so I decided to focus on that for this challenge.

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (Fireworks)
  • Early Espresso cardstock (SU)
  • Lovely as a Tree stamp set (SU)
  • Sentiment Sampler stamp set (Paper Smooches)

  • Water spritzer (SU)

As always we would love for you to join our crew and play along.

SoSS #61 - V is for Vroom

Hey crafty friends.
I've been away for a while.
Haven't felt much like crafting.
Real life sometimes takes over.

But I have been missing Edna and my snarky sisters something awful, so I managed (very last minute) to get something together for the new SoSS challenge.

Edna looks as though she is heading off on an adventure with V is for Vroom!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • "Family Man" design papers and sticker accents (Echo Park)
  • Mini ink blender
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
Check out the SoSS Blog for all the details on the challenge and while you are there please share some crafty lovin' with the rest of the sisterhood.

Shopping Our Stash #249 - Think Ink

Thanks for popping by today to check out the newest SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge.

This week the crew would like you to "Think Ink"

We want to see lots of ink on your project, but no colouring!!

I rarely need an excuse to make an inky mess in my crafting, so I loved this challenge!

I used an acrylic block and overlapped four different distress inks to make my colour block background. Then another distress ink to stamp the trees and sentiment.

I also inked up the edges of the layer and the sentiment to match the trees.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Acrylic block (SU)
  • Broken China, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Shabby Shutters and Gathered Twigs distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Lovely as a Tree stamp set (SU)
  • Happy Everything stamp set (Lawn Fawn)
  • Mini ink blender tool (Tim Holtz)
As always, we would love for you to play along with us!

Check out all the details on the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG and while you are there please share some crafty lovin' with the rest of the crew!
