SoSS #255 H is for Halloween

Greetings and salutations crafty pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

With October upon us, it's time to celebrate all things Halloween!
As is it also Breast Cancer Awareness month, we like to throw in the option of pink as well.

I have a plethora of Halloween design paper - like more than Christmas, I can't stop collecting (haha) Halloween paper! So in an effort to use up some of my stash (and do some crafting at the trailer that didn't require my entire craft room) I made some mini albums.

I started with THIS TUTORIAL and a few empty bear paw boxes (yes I eat like a 2 year old)

Each mini album has 12 pages, I made a few pages with pockets and journalling cards, left some for pictures or whatever. These were super fun to make - now to figure out what to do with them lol

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with the rest of the sisterhood!

SoSS #253 - A is for Autumn

Greetings and salutations snarky friends!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

Labour Day is past, kids are back to school, all things pumpkin spice have returned.
It may not quite be sweater weather yet, but we are celebrating autumn and hope that you will join us!

Growing up my favourite part of fall (nerd alert) was getting ready for back to school. Shopping for school supplies and that special back to school outfit - even now I can't resist looking at school supplies this time of year!

Since my crafty mojo took a significant leave of absence over the summer and  I just haven't been motivated to do anything crafty, so I kinda took a cheatie way out on this challenge with a pre designed card kit.

These make crafting at the trailer super easy with minimal supplies and I did want to make some cards for some of my favourite back to schoolers.

Here are the cards I made using the Simple Stories You've Got Class card kit:

ATC Around the World #108 - Winter Wonderland

Well 2023, you've been a year!
Maybe I should have guessed that you'd have one more surprise in store for me in the last few days of the year...ta da....another round of COVID for this girl

Bleh

So while I am hanging out by myself in my craft room, thought I would get a head start on my 2024 crafty goal of using some design paper and collections in my stash and made a few ATCs for the latest challenge over at ATC Around the World - Winter Wonderland.

I used the Holly Jolly collection from Simple Stories and some bling and paper (sentiment cut outs) from a SCT sampler (ya I have to use those too!)

I was inspired by my crafty pal Helen's ATC and attempted to draw my own freehand borders...not the worst thing I have ever seen LOL

Simple Stories - Baking Spirits Bright

May have forgotten that I only did 4 of the 8 cards last year in this super cute "Baking Spirits Bright" card kit from Simple Stories.

On a crafty roll (pun intended) and finished off the kit.

Will likely be adding these to my stash of "too cute to give away" cards.

Simple Stories - Mix & A-Mingle

Here are the other 4 cards I made using the super cute Mix & A-Mingle card kit from Simple Stories.

When I have zero crafty mojo, these card kits are just the thing to pop together.

Thing is, they are sooooooo stinking cute, I never want to give them away

JINGLE BELLES - NOT A CREATURE WAS STIRRING

Had a little crafty time over the weekend, finally cracked into a card kit I bought last year and some of the cards, with a mix of dogs, a cat and a reindeer are a great fit for the current challenge at Jingle Belles...NOT A CREATURE WAS STIRRING

Here are 4 of the 8 cards I made (the other 4 didn't have any creatures) using the super cute Mix & A-Mingle card kit from Simple Stories.

I love love love the colour combo in these cards (kinda looks like the Jingle Belles photo above!)

SoSS #244 - X is for Xanadu

Greetings and salutations snarky friends.

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

X is for Xanadu

I gotta admit, I was at a loss on this one. When I think Xanadu, I think Olivia Newton John and roller skating...but then I googled the meaning and got this:

Xanadu • \ZAN-uh-doo\ • noun: an idyllic, exotic, or luxurious place

For me, my happy place, is camping. We currently have a travel trailer that is parked at a seasonal site...it has a fridge, microwave, furnace, running water, full bathroom and air conditioning, that's pretty luxurious camping.

I grew up camping in a tent trailer with my family, to me that is the most idyllic way to camp because I have the best memories.

You might notice one consistency in the 3 cards, mosquitoes! Not only are they essential for camping, they are one of the only things I am allergic to...so I am a benadryl camper..lol...never leave home without it!

So here's what I came up with for the challenge:

Shite I used to make these cards:
  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • Camp Happy Bear and Happy Trails collections (Simple Stories)
As always we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

This is going to be our last SoSS challenge for 2023.
Edna and the Sisterhood are going to take a much needed (and deserved) break for the next few months.

SoSS #240 - A is for ATC

Greetings and salutations snarky pals, hope that all is well in your corner of the universe.

Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are back with a new challenge, one of my favourites (I know I say that a lot). I love making ATCs. I make cards more often then coins, but I like em both.

If you've never made one before, an artist trading card is 2.5" x 3.5" and an artist trading coin is a 2.5" circle.

Everything is supposed to fit within that space, so I have cheated a little as the twine and little sign hang off the edges. These will go off in the mail to a few of my fave littles as bookmarks.

The little hearts are dancers, their legs swing when you tip them back and forth.

Shite I used to make these ATCs:
  • White, pink, red, blue and black cardstock (Recollections)
  • Dancin' Hearts die set (Spellbinders)
  • Sweet Talk design paper (Simple Stories)
  • Black Soot Distress Oxide ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Mini ink blender (Tim Holtz)
  • Pearl sticker (Recollections)
  • Twine (The Twinery)
As always, we would love for you to take up the challenge and join the sisterhood!

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

SoSS #226 - G is for Glitter

Greetings and salutations crafty friends!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

This time around, we are celebrating all things {{GAH!!}} glitter.

The bane of my crafty existence, shaky hands and glitter are not the best combination. I will only use loose glitter in very controlled circumstances, like a shaker card and even then, it still gets everywhere!

The shaker tag die was a freebie from Taylored Expressions (which I hadn't used yet) so I thought it would be perfect for this card and this challenge.

I can see making more shaker tags for sure, they were relatively quick and easy (after I watched a few videos lol).

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (American Crafts)
  • Black cardstock (Recollections)
  • Shaker Tag (Taylored Expressions)
  • Shaker bits and acetate (Recollections)
  • Sweet Talk design paper and cardstock stickers (Simple Stories)
  • Pink extra fine glitter (Dollarama)
As always we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

Jingle Belles - What Did Santa Bring You

Greetings and salutations crafty friends!

The first challenge of 2023 with our friends at Jingle Belles is What Did Santa Bring You.

I hit the Christmas crafty jackpot this year! Santa brought me some card kits and paper collections, and a shiny new paper trimmer.

So far I have made four cards with the Simple Stories "Baking Spirits Bright" card kit.

Seriously, these are so cute, I am not sure I can bring myself to give them away...nonetheless...I am on my way to creating my 2023 Christmas cards and it's only January 9th!

Here are two of the four cards I made so far:

Quick and easy cards, you pop all the pieces out, adhere them all together and voila...super cute little ginger people cards!

SoSS #214 - C is for Christmas (in July)

Greetings and holiday salutations snarky pals!

Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers (like most challenge blogs this time of year) are celebrating Christmas in July and we'd love for you to meet us under the tree to join in on the celebrations!

It's never too early to break out some Christmas or holiday craft supplies to get a head start on your cards.

Don't celebrate Christmas? Coolio!! Show us what you celebrate in the winter season!

I went to one of my go-to favourite stamp sets - which someone gifted me - one of my snarky sisters if I recall correctly...

Shite I used to make this card:
  • Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
  • Oh Dear stamp set (Simon Says Stamp / Kelly Purkey)
  • Whip Cream ink (Fun Stampers Journey)

A Tiny Craft - Challenge #6 - NBUS

Greetings and salutations crafty friends!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the design team of A TINY CRAFT.

We took a bit of a break over the holidays and new year - but we are back and creating and hope you will join us and play along!

Our theme for this challenge is NBUS (never been used stuff).

Don't know about you - but I have LOTS of **ahem** collected and never used stuff in my craft room.

For this challenge I used two new things!! The first one is the design paper from the Going Places collection from Simple Stories, the second one is The Journey stamp and die set from Tim Holtz which I picked up at least a year ago and have never used.

It's hard to see under the burlap background stamp, but I used the globe stamp to create passport stamps in the background, maybe if you close one eye and squint with the other you might be able to see them lol.

SHITE I USED TO MAKE THIS ATC:
  • Cardboard ATC base
  • Going Places design paper (Simple Stories)
  • Bit of Burlap background stamp (Market Street Stamps)
  • Frayed Burlap distress paint and ink (Tim Holtz)
  • The Journey stamp and die set (Tim Holtz)
  • Deep Ocean Lobster die (Memory Box)
  • Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations cardstock (SU)
  • Sanding block (SU)
Amazing how many supplies you can use in a 3.5" x 2.5" space huh??

I made a set of these ATCs for the Stamplicity monthly ATC swap for February - the theme is travel - and I am totally wishing for summer and wishing I was on the Canadian east coast...

We would love for you to play along with us, you can find all the details for the challenge on the A TINY CRAFT BLOG.

While you are there, please share some cratfy love and comments with the rest of the design team.

SoSS #191 - F is for F Words

Greetings and salutations snarky pals!
Hope all is well and safe in your corner of the world...thanks for stopping by today to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers.

Edna has been practicing her alphabet and today is brought to you by the letter F.
That means we want to see an F word, any F word, not necessarily THAT F word on your project.

I had seen this design on a mug, and when I saw it I knew I wanted to use it on a card. How perfect that this challenge was F words?? Thanks Edna!

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • I AM design paper (Simple Stories)
  • Cricut Joy (to diecut the letters)
  • Paper piercer and mat (SU)
  • Fine tip Sharpie
As always we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.
You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge

When the mojo hits, you gotta roll with it. I have had NO motivation to get crafty for the better part of a month...then yesterday and today...maybe being away from home for a few days did me more good than I realized, a change of scenery and all that...

This is what the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge mood board for June looks like:

And here's the card I made based on the mood board (and I've really been wanting to break into my Boo Crew collection kit from Simple Stories).

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • Boo Crew design paper design paper (Simple Stories)
  • Boo Crew cardstock stickers (Simple Stories)
  • Spider punch (Studio G)
As mentioned at the beginning of this post, I made this for the June Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge.
