SoSS #276 - X is for Xmas in July

Greetings & salutations snarky pals!

Thanks for coming by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

It's 30+ degrees Celsius in Southern Ontario right now and nothing says Christmas quite like sweating your jingle bells off!

I am still unpacking my craft room and was lucky I had most of the parts for this card pre cut and really only had to cut a few letters, Santa and the holly.

I may make a few more of these for my circle of girlies who would find this amusing.

If you think this looks vaguely like THIS card I made in 2024, you are right! That's where all the pre cut pieces came from! (variation on a theme or lazy card making - maybe both??)

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

SoSS #269 - C is for Cheeky Christmas

Greetings and holiday salutations crafty friends!
Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Time for our snarky holiday challenge.
I look forward to this one every year as my snarky sisters always come up with some doozies!

Mine is pretty tame, but very much reflects my "meh" Christmas spirit this year.

As always, we would love for you to show us your cheeky Christmas spirit by joining the sisterhood to play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS Blog.

While you are there please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

However, whatever and with whomever you celebrate this holiday season, we hope you wrap up the year in festive happiness. We will see you again in early 2026 for our next SoSS challenge.

Shopping Our Stash #560 - A Few of My Favourite Things

Greetings and salutations crafty friends!

I am trying to make the most of my days off this week, including getting a start on my holiday cards and participating in a few challenges.

I made a few Santa cards specifically for the A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH.

A few of my favourite things on this card are:
  • shaped cards
  • stenciling
  • distress oxide inks
  • Christmas
  • SCT Let's Stamp Together kits (this one is from 2024 and this is the first time I've used it!)

SoSS #257 - H is for Ho Ho Ho (Naughty Christmas)

Greetings and salutations snarky pals!

Hope that all is well in your corner of this crazy little planet we inhabit together.

The end of another year is almost upon us and for Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers that means it's time for on of our favourite annual challenges - H is for Ho Ho Ho (Naughty Christmas).

We want to see some colossal year end snark on these ones
Don't celebrate Christmas? Cool Cool...show us what you celebrate this time of the year and don't forget to bring the snark!

I had this card in my little brain and I am happy it came out even better than I hoped!

I am soooooooo in love with the sidekick side-order collections from Tim Holtz - I had to use a few (Letter Board and Christmas Minis) on my card.

I hope that Sister Deena is proud of me for doing some die cutting (little pieces and old eyes are not a good combination!)

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White, pink and black cardstock (Recollections)
  • Fa La La design paper (Bella Blvd)
  • Kraft Core cardstock (Tim Holtz)
  • Sanding block (SU)
  • Letter Board and Christmas Minis sidekick side-order thinlits / texture fades  (Tim Holtz)
As always we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.
You can find all of the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.
While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

Until next time, best wishes and warmest regards...

Jingle Belles - Wrap it Up

It's the most wonderful time of the year!! Time to get a head start on 2024 holiday and Christmas cards!!!

The lovely ladies of Jingle Belles are encouraging us to use some wrapping paper or tags on a project.

We  (I) make our own gift labels every year, cuz let's face it, I have a LOT of Christmas paper.

Here's a label that was on one of my gifts this year (actually a recycled tag from last year!!)

And here are the two cards I made using that same paper (and Sharpie) featuring a few dancing characters sent to me by my awesome crafty pal Deena. She is so awesome she even put them together for me. I love the little dancing / swinging legs, but I loathe all the tiny pieces!!!

Entering these cards for JINGLE BELLES - WRAP IT UP

As my lovely crafty pal Jo pointed our, there is a wee bit of gold in each card, the star on the tree and the belt buckle on Santa, I am also entering these into the CHRISTMAS KICKSTART CHALLENGE #82 - THE MIDAS TOUCH

Christmas Kickstart Challenge & SoSS

Greetings all!

While Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are on a bit of a break, our pal and sister Jo has invited us to play along for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge #80 - It's Christmas Jim, but not as we know it.

We want to see something non traditional on your project (including perhaps a Star Trek reference???).

I went the non traditional colour route with a blue, pink and purple card using a super cute Let's Stamp Together kit from November 2022 from Scrapbook and Cards today and LDRS creative.

The ornament is 3 separate layering stamps (super cool right??)

We would love for you to come on over to the Christmas Kickstart Challenge blog and play along with us!

There might even be a prize!!!

Simple Stories - Baking Spirits Bright

May have forgotten that I only did 4 of the 8 cards last year in this super cute "Baking Spirits Bright" card kit from Simple Stories.

On a crafty roll (pun intended) and finished off the kit.

Will likely be adding these to my stash of "too cute to give away" cards.

Simple Stories - Mix & A-Mingle

Here are the other 4 cards I made using the super cute Mix & A-Mingle card kit from Simple Stories.

When I have zero crafty mojo, these card kits are just the thing to pop together.

Thing is, they are sooooooo stinking cute, I never want to give them away

JINGLE BELLES - NOT A CREATURE WAS STIRRING

Had a little crafty time over the weekend, finally cracked into a card kit I bought last year and some of the cards, with a mix of dogs, a cat and a reindeer are a great fit for the current challenge at Jingle Belles...NOT A CREATURE WAS STIRRING

Here are 4 of the 8 cards I made (the other 4 didn't have any creatures) using the super cute Mix & A-Mingle card kit from Simple Stories.

I love love love the colour combo in these cards (kinda looks like the Jingle Belles photo above!)

Even More Christmas Cards!!!!

Getting a jump start on my 52 weeks of crafting for 2023 and shopped my stash this morning to make a set of Christmas cards (isn't that what you do on December 29???).

I used a card kit from December 2014 featuring the "Jingle All The Way" collection from Echo Park.

It's called Christmas Kickstart Challenge, and she has invited the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers to be her helper elves for challenge #68 - Trees Trees Trees

One can never ever ever have too many Christmas cards in ones stash, so I took the opportunity of this challenge to try out my new Create in Quads "Peaceful Pines" stencil set from Taylored Expressions to make 4 card fronts.

It's awesome and you should totally check it out and play along.

The current challenge is Show Us Your Snowfolk so I knew right away what stamp I wanted to use...my go to all time favourite Tim Holtz sketchy snowman.

Jingle Belles - Bling It On

Greetings and salutations crafty friends.

I am trying to make the most of my Christmas in July mojo while it lasts.

I was inspired by the Bling it On challenge at Jingle Belles (who by the way celebrate Christmas ALL YEAR LONG!!).

I got a super fab die from my crafty and lovely pal Deena and thought this would be the prefect challenge to break it in with some shiny metallic papers (which are a bit of a pain in the buttocks to photograph).

I also used black and white shimmer cardstock to up the bling factor - you can't tell in the picture, but I promise it's there :)

Shite I used to make these cards:
  • Black and White shimmer cardstock (Rcollections)
  • Metallic papers (gold, red and green) (Recollections)
  • Peace on Earth die (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
