SoSS #276 - X is for Xmas in July

Greetings & salutations snarky pals!

Thanks for coming by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

It's 30+ degrees Celsius in Southern Ontario right now and nothing says Christmas quite like sweating your jingle bells off!

I am still unpacking my craft room and was lucky I had most of the parts for this card pre cut and really only had to cut a few letters, Santa and the holly.

I may make a few more of these for my circle of girlies who would find this amusing.

If you think this looks vaguely like THIS card I made in 2024, you are right! That's where all the pre cut pieces came from! (variation on a theme or lazy card making - maybe both??)

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

SoSS #271 - Black Black Heart

Greetings and salutations snarky friends.
The season of love is upon us.
Edna, as you can see, is thrilled by this prospect.
Much like Edna, I myself have never been much of a lovey dovey kinda gal.
Love is really best expressed through sarcasm and snark no??

I knew exactly the stamp set I wanted to use for this one, a la our Sister Chris and her "Some Snark" sentiments.

I also wanted to use one of my new TWC stencils (layered rose banner) cuz roses are dead romantic no??

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.
You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.
While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments for our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.
Until next time...

SoSS #270 - N is for New or Never

Greetings, salutations & happy new year snarky friends!
Hope the holiday season was kind to you and yours and that 2026 brings all the good.

Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are back with our first challenge of 2026.

Did you get some new crafty things for Christmas?
Do you have loads of stuff in your craft room that you've never used?
Here's your chance to show it off!
We want to see something new, new to you or never been used on your project.

My crafty resolution for 2026 is to break out some of the many many many things I have in my craft room that I have never used.

For this challenge I went back to a class by Simon Hurley that was part of the March 2023 Crop & Create that for some reason I have not done until now. For my project I used the stencils, masks and stamps from that class.

These colours are pretty far out of my comfort zone but I loved the stenciling and masking to get the layered effect. The sentiments are from a Strawberry Jude Stamps set that were gifted to the Sisterhood a number of years ago.

As always, we would love for you to join the Sisterhood and play along.
You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.
While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

SoSS #268 - D is for Drink

Cheers to you Edna!

Feels totally like drinky season. Maybe it's just me...

Join the party won't you?

You can find all the details over on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there share some crafty love, comments and toasts with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

Slainte!

SoSS #264 - H is for Hot Hot Hot (summer)

Greetings and salutations snarky pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

For the next month we are getting hot hot hot and we hope you will play along!

I had an entirely different card and blog post ready for this challenge and then thought EFFFFFFFF it, I want to make something snarky.

So here it is, using a sentiment stamp from our very own SISTER CHRIS and Stamplorations which perfectly sums up my state of mind these days!

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can find all the details over on the SoSS BLOG and while you are there, please leave some crafty love and comments for our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

Until next time...best wishes, warmest regards!

SoSS #248 - S is for Snarky

Hey friends!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers!

True to our name, we are celebrating all things snarky - it is our 10th anniversary after all.

Most of the time we say that snark is not necessary, but appreciated...for this challenge it's mandatory, so let your snark flag fly and let's see what you've got!

Back in January SISTER DEENA and I spent a Sunday crafty afternoon making gel prints. I used some of them for the backgrounds of my snarky cards.

While I love love love the snarky sentiments by AALL & Create, the text is so freaking small, I will post under each card what it says so you get the full snarky effect.

If it looks like I give a damn, please tell me. I don't want to give off the wrong impression.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have not offended yet. Please be patient, I will get to you shortly.

I'm sorry I hurt your feelings when I called you stupid. I really thought you already knew.

I'm sorry, while you were talking I was trying to figure where the hell you got the idea I cared.

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood.

SoSS #246 - N is for New

Greetings, salutations and happy new year!!

Thanks for coming by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

In 2024 we are celebrating our 10th anniversary - can you believe that??? 10 awesome years of snarkiness! We hope that you will join us in our celebrations.

We are switching things up a little this year and will be hosting 1 challenge each month instead of 2, we hope that will give you more time to play along!

Our first challenge for the year is N is for New, that means we want to see something new (maybe something you got for Christmas??) or something you haven't used before on your project.

I was lucky enough to receive an amazing #RAK (random act of kindness) from Sister Deena just before the holidays...which worked out perfectly for this challenge!

The background stamp and hand / finger die were in that #RAK package and the sentiment is from a package she had sent me previously (crafty friends are the BEST am I right???).

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White & black cardstock (Recollections)
  • Happy Crafting design paper (Echo Park - September 2023 SCT Sampler)
  • Roadies Background Vol 1 Salty stamp (Ink Road Stamps, #RAK from Sister Deena)
  • Scallop Rectangle die (Lawn Fawn)
  • Helping Hand die (HoneyBee Stamps, #RAK from Sister Deena)
  • Foil Ready Basic Cheeky Sentiments (Rebellious, Ink Road Stamps, #RAK from Sister Deena)
  • Paper piercer & mat (SU)
  • Fine tip Sharpie
  • Peach cardstock (Concord & 9th)
  • Bling (Dollarama)
As always we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.
You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS Blog.
While you are there please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood!

Greetings & salutations snarky friends! Hope that all is well in your corner of the universe!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Looks like Edna perfected her tie dying skills at summer camp...and now she'd like you to show us YOUR vivid creations!

I totally took the easy way out on this one and used a "Done For You" alcohol ink sheet from Taylored Expressions.

I am having one of those no mojo times, so this worked super well for the challenge and hey, it does have vivid colours!

The image is from a stamp set I picked up at Scrapfest in Kitchener this past April and then of course, a snarky sentiment (is it snarky if it's the truth???)

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White and black cardstock (Recollections)
  • Done For You Alcohol Ink Series 2 sheet (Taylored Expressions)
  • A Little Snarky stamp set (Sweet'n Sassy Stamps)
  • Nocturne ink (Tsukineko)
  • Small Talk Snarky sentiment sticker (Tim Holtz)

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers as we bring you U IS FOR UPCYCLE.

We want to see what you can reuse, repurpose or upcycle on your project.

I upcycled a library card from my crafty pal MIMIused a piece of amazon bubble packaging and watercolour markers to make the coloured pattern on the library card and a (yep I did) toilet paper roll in black ink to create the pattern on top of the bubble wrap.

If you look super close, you can kind of see the toilet paper roll in the bottom left of the picture and the card is sitting on the bubble wrap.

The snarky sentiment was sent to my in the most awesome gifty package from my crafty pal DEENA

SoSS #234 - Y is for Yo Mama

Greetings and salutations snarky pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Mother's Day is just around the corner for those of us in North America, so we are celebrating all things Yo Mama (interpret how you will).

My card morphed over a few hours, I was very displeased with it and it almost ended up (several times) in the recycling bin (it's only paper right??)

I kept adding to it, adding more ink, more stenciled layers, more watercolouring - meh, I am still not sure it won't end up in the bin...

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • Weathered Wood, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks (Tim Hotlz)
  • Title stencil (AALL &Create)
  • Coffee Stains stencil (AALL &Create)
  • Nocturine Versafine Clair ink (Tsukineko)
  • Winged Things stamp (Tim Holtz)
  • Sarcastic Superpower stamp set (Rubber Dance)
  • Paper piercer and mat (SU)
  • Fine tip Sharpie
  • Mini ink blending tool (Tim Holtz)
  • Watercolour brushes (Tim Holtz)
  • Bling (Michaels)
  • Sentiment sticker (Krissyanne Designs)
As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along!

SoSS #230 - Y is for Yuck

Greetings and salutations snarky friends!

Hope all is well and safe in your corner of the world and thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

Ready to see some gross stuff??
Join us for Y is for Yuck.

I call my project an ode to my 20 year old laundry adverse son.
I am not sure why he is so laundry adverse, but I can tell ya he has nowhere near the amount of underwear it would take him to have a pair for every day between laundry loads...TMI

Don't get me wrong, his underwear DOES NOT look like this - but come on kid, do some freaking laundry!

My lovely and wonderful SISTER JULES sent me some images from this stamp set (with which I made his birthday card and he was not impressed LMAO), then I found the set on sale at one of my local shops, so of course I had to buy it!!

I impressed myself by (not too badly) fussy cutting the underwear and paper piecing the band at the top so it was all matchy matchy.

My crafty pal DEENA helped me design the pee stain (do I have the BEST friends or what??)

My card is an almost direct CASE of the card I found here on Pinterest (apart from the yucky pee stain).

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White and black cardstock (Recollections)
  • Well Played design paper (Carta Bella)
  • 2.5: circle punch (Marvy)
  • Black Soot distress ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Change is a Good Thing stamp set (Unity Stamp Company)
  • Yellow Blaze marker (Bic)
As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

SoSS #229 - I is for Inks

Greetings and salutations snarky friends!

Hope all is well and safe in your corner of the world.

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Edna appears to have been working on her ink collection in more way than one - check out those awesome sleeves and maybe a wee tat under her eye?? Makes me want another tattoo...sigh...

Anywho...break out your inks and show us what you've got!

I drew inspiration from 2 of my crafty friends for this card.

HELEN who showed how you can print random imanges and photos to use on crafty projects, and DEENA who insists I follow the rule of three for bling and not just randomly drop 1 or 2 (LOL).

Shite I used to make this card:
  • Pre cut card base (American Crafts)
  • Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Black Soot distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Bit of Burlap stamp (Market Street Stamps)
  • Small Talk Snarky sentiment sticker (Tim Holtz)
  • Random image from the internet printed on photo paper
  • Bling(Michaels)
As always we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

Woo hoooooo let your F flag fly - or the sweary letter of your choosing.

Mine is a T...I got this great sentiment stamp from Crackerbox / Suzy Stamps recently at a local crafty store...and IT WAS ON SALE!!!!

I loved it so much I made two versions of the card (to demonstrate that anywhere along the spectrum of gender identity, you can be a twinkledick - which might just be my new favourite word).

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • Pink and Teal design paper, background layers (CTMH)
  • Black Soot distress ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Walter and Coffee Lady stamps (Riley and Company)

Thanks for stopping by to check out the  V IS FOR VINTAGE challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

I don't usually make cards for myself, but I think this one I will keep and hang on my bulletin board behind my laptop to remind myself that I am fabulous and an a+ grown up.

Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers are back with a new challenge and we'd love for you to play along.

There's no in between on this one, you either love it or hate it, we bring you...P is for PINK!

I love it, but really don't use pink much in crafting...not sure why, I like it when I do.

A few weekends ago I participated in the Crop & Create Delivered cardmaking event with Scrapbook and Cards Today.

THREE FULL DAYS OF CLASSES AND CRAFY AWESOMENESS FRIENDS!!
THREE FULL DAYS!!!!

It's amazing and exhausting all at once!

One of the awesome products we received was the Triple Slim Falling for You Stencil and Stamp set from Taylored Expressions.

Can I just tell you how in love I am right now with stenciling? Especially the Triple Slim and Create in Quads stencils, you create three or four cards at a time! The three cards below were all stenciled at the same time! Love love love!!!

And of course I used my favourite snarky stamp sets from our very own SISTER CHRIS.

Shite I used to make these cards:
  • Pink cardstock (Recollections)
  • White cardstock (gift from my friend Judy)
  • Triple Slim - Falling for You Stencil and Stamp sets (Taylored Expressions)

SoSS #216 - O is for Old

Greetings & salutations snarky pals.

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

We are celebrating all things OLD (people or stuff).

Edna looks like she has found a super cool vintage junk shop...I want to join her there!!

I went with old people and a snarky sentiment from my man Tim Holtz.

I practiced my layered stenciling with this super cool "create in quads" stencils that were part of the March Crop & Create card making event.

The more I use those blending brushes (thanks Michelle!!!) the more I like stenciling and blending.

With the quad stencils you create 4 different card fronts at once...how awesome is THAT??

The sentiment sticker is covering a wee spot where I tore the stenciled layer....meh...LOL...that's probably (maybe) where I would have put the sentiment anyway.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • Create in Quads - Hexagon Layering Stencil (Taylored Expressions)
  • Peacock Feathers, Fossilized Amber and Mowed Lawn distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Watering Can archival ink (Ranger)
  • Blending brushes
  • Snarky Big Talk sentiment (Tim Holtz)
As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.
