SoSS #255 H is for Halloween

Greetings and salutations crafty pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

With October upon us, it's time to celebrate all things Halloween!
As is it also Breast Cancer Awareness month, we like to throw in the option of pink as well.

I have a plethora of Halloween design paper - like more than Christmas, I can't stop collecting (haha) Halloween paper! So in an effort to use up some of my stash (and do some crafting at the trailer that didn't require my entire craft room) I made some mini albums.

I started with THIS TUTORIAL and a few empty bear paw boxes (yes I eat like a 2 year old)

Each mini album has 12 pages, I made a few pages with pockets and journalling cards, left some for pictures or whatever. These were super fun to make - now to figure out what to do with them lol

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with the rest of the sisterhood!

Poor Edna!

I won't tell you exactly how many Halloween cards I make every year, sometimes more than Christmas cards...the set of mini slimline cards I made for this challenge will have gone out in the mail already to some of my most favourite ghosts and ghouls and I **may** have made at least duplicates of all of these cards.

SoSS #211 - W is for Wicked

Greetings and wicked salutations snarky friends!!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

Edna is for sure channelling her inner Elphaba for this challenge - W is for Wicked

I love all things Halloweeny, so I was super excited to use the Gnome for the Holidays - Halloween collection by PhotoPlay for this one.

My sentiment is a combo of a cut up graphicat designs stamp and a Halloween stamp set my mum picked up for me from Michaels (yay Mum!!) - I swapped out the "bad" for "wicked"

I had to glam up her shoes a bit to match the sentiment, so I gave her gold stickled shoes...I know they should have been red, but red with orange hair...I just couldn't do that to her!

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • Gnome for the Holidays - Halloween design paper (PhotoPlay)
  • Bad Witch stamp (Graphicat Designs)
  • Halloween stamp set (Michaels)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Golden Rod stickles (Ranger)
As always we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along!

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge

I am very much enjoying making some spooky Halloween cards to play along with the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenges.

Their monthly theme for July is Just Anything Halloween...easy enough right?

I have a bag of miscellaneous Halloween crafty stash, I broke that open to make this card...but...I have NO idea who made the design paper or punch out embellishments...if you recognize it, please let me know.

After Halloween last year my mum picked me up this "Creep It Real" sentiment stamp, perfect fit for this card...thanks mum!

Shite I used to make this card:
  • Black cardstock (SU)
  • Design paper and punch out embellishments (??)
  • Black Soot ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Versamark ink
  • White embossing powder (Recollections)
  • Creep It Real sentiment stamp (Recollections)
  • White paint pen (Artistro)
I would like to enter this card for Just Anything Halloween at Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge.

When the mojo hits, you gotta roll with it. I have had NO motivation to get crafty for the better part of a month...then yesterday and today...maybe being away from home for a few days did me more good than I realized, a change of scenery and all that...

This is what the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge mood board for June looks like:

And here's the card I made based on the mood board (and I've really been wanting to break into my Boo Crew collection kit from Simple Stories).

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • Boo Crew design paper design paper (Simple Stories)
  • Boo Crew cardstock stickers (Simple Stories)
  • Spider punch (Studio G)
As mentioned at the beginning of this post, I made this for the June Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge.

SoSS #121 - S is for Skulls

Hello friends!!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers!

It's the most wonderful time of year!! Not only is Halloween approaching, but this challenge is one of my fave fave faves!! I might been keen on all things skull...yeah probably...just a little...

I recently picked up a new Tim Holtz Halloween set that had stamps, dies and an embossing folder, so of course I used them ALL on my Halloween coaster.

This was a super fun inky mess to make, between inking and spritzing the background to dying the ribbon to match, it's a good thing it's the weekend and I don't have to go to work with orange and black fingers!

Shite I used to make this coaster:

  • Chipboard coaster
  • Black Soot, Carved Pumpkin & Frayed Burlap distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Hocus Pocus stamp, die and embossing folder set (Tim Holtz)
  • Crinkle ribbon (Tim Holtz)
  • Water brush (Tim Holtz)
  • Water spritzer (SU)
  • Googly eyes (Michaels)
As always, Edna would love you to play along and join the sisterhood.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

Shopping Our Stash #376 - Pink is the New Orange

Greetings friends!

Thanks for visiting to check out the newest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH.

This week Mimi is our host, and she has chosen "Pink is the New Orange" as our challenge theme.

You can use primarily pink, or primarily orange, or you can live dangerously and use both together!!

Remember, October is breast cancer awareness month, so we'd really like to see some {{GAH!!}} pink in there!!

I went the dangerous route and am overwhelmingly pleased with myself at how my card came out!
Who knew pink and orange worked so awesomely together??
Well I guess Mimi did!!!

I blame Chris for my new smooshing addiction, yep, that is ANOTHER smooshed background using Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry distress inks.

Once I made the background piece, I ran it through the cuttlebug in the Halloween Words embossing folder, then rubbed the whole thing down with black ink. Sweet right????

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Pixie Pink cardstock (SU)
  • Picked Raspberry & Carved Pumpkin distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Halloween Words texture fades embossing folder (Tim Holtz)
  • Pumpkin punch (Martha Stewart)
  • Acetate
  • Water spritzer (SU)
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along!
