SoSS #138 - B is for the Birds & the Bees

Uhhhhh ohhhhh....looks like our dear Edna has found herself in a spot of trouble.

Who knew the old bird had it in her?? (ha ha ha ...sorry bad joke).

I think she must have skipped school on the day they talked about the birds & the bees!

She for sure doesn't want the same to happen to you, so she has dedicated an entire challenge to helping you learn more about the birds & the bees!

Be sure to visit the SoSS BLOG for all the details on the challenge.

While you are there please share some crafty love and comments with our reigning Queen of Snark and the rest of the sisterhood!

Personally, I never did understand how birds & bees made babies...

I did a LOT of masking and fussy cutting for this card, and let me tell ya my masking skills SUCK, so this was my third attempt (effing smudges) LOL

I re - stamped and paper pieced the bird bath and there are three birds and three bees popped up.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set (Lawn Fawn)
  • Cloud & hexagon stencils
  • Salty Ocean, Black Soot, Lucky Clover and Mustard Seed distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Black Soot distress marker (Tim Holtz)
  • Mini Ink blending tool (Tim Holtz)
  • Key Lime, Rambunctious Red, Blue Skies Blue and Yellow Blaze markers (Bic - Mark It)

Let's Hear It For The Boys!

Taking some time off work this week has allowed me to enjoy the sunshine AND spend some time in my craft room!

With father's day this weekend, I wanted to focus on some masculine cards, which, let's be honest, I hardly ever do, but I love them when I make them!

This first one I made specifically for a special three year old dude in my life.
I love to send him and his sister random cards in the mail.
Who doesn't love to get happy mail right??

This one is my father's day template card for 2019.

For both of these cards I was able "shop my stash" and use some design papers and stickers from a card kit that I've had for more than a few years featuring the MAX collection by Bella BLVD.

Shite I used to make these cards:

  • Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
  • White cardstock (Fireworks)
  • "Max" design paper & stickers (Bella BLVD)
  • Ground Espresso, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Smokey Slate ink (SU)
  • Masculine Graphic Tee stamp & die set (My Favourite Things)
  • 1 3/8" circle punch (SU)
I'd like to enter these cards into the following challenges:

Shopping Our Stash # 397 - Stencil Me This

Greetings and salutations crafty pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH

Yours truly is our host this week and I have picked stencils as our theme.

I chose to use my stencil a bit differently, rather than using the stencil pattern to create a background, I used the stencil itself, to do that I inked up the stencil and pressed that on my cardstock to create the background.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Burlap stencil (Tim Holtz)
  • Perfect Blend stamp set (SU)
  • Fresh Brewed stamp set (Tim Holtz)
  • Peacock Feathers, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed & Ground Espresso distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Water brush (Tim Holtz)
  • Water spritzer (SU)
  • Tim Hortons cup
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along!!
