Shopping Our Stash #378 - Witching Hour

Greetings friends!!

Thanks for coming by to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH.

I am host again this week, and since tomorrow is Halloween...our theme is "Witching Hour."

We want to see something spooky, Halloween-y or witchy on your project.

I made two ATCs for the challenge.

I love the cute wee vintage Halloween images that came as part of the "Thrilling" design paper pack from Authentique...I used a few of them for my ATCs.

Shite I used to make these ATCs:

  • Cardboard ATC bases
  • Thrilling design paper (Authentique)
  • Black cardstock (Recollections)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Fishtail / Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
  • Spookytown Assortment brad (Doodlebug Designs Inc.)
  • Halloween Epoxy Eyelet charm (Making Memories)
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along.

Shopping Our Stash #377 - Not Your Average Card

Greetings and salutations crafty pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH.

This week Chris is our host and the theme is brought to you by Barb.

Our theme this week is "not your average card"  that means no square, rectangular, round or oval cards. We want to see a card or project with a unique shape.

The two crafty projects I struggle with most are...shaped cards (lol) and masculine cards...so I decided to do a two-fer!

We are very blessed to have the most wonderful neighbours and one of these wonderful neighbours is having a big birthday this week, so I knew I wanted to make him an extra special card.

I used THIS tutorial for my screen divider card.

I love using metallic papers, but they are a sonofa to photograph!!

Here's a closer look at each panel:

Shite I used to make this card:

  • Black & metallic silver cardstock (Recollections)
  • Diamond plate embossing folder (Provo Craft)
  • Decorative label punch (SU)
  • Craftsman chipboard stickers (Prima Marketing)
  • Craftsman tiny alpha cardstock stickers (Prima Marketing)
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along.

SoSS #121 - S is for Skulls

Hello friends!!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers!

It's the most wonderful time of year!! Not only is Halloween approaching, but this challenge is one of my fave fave faves!! I might been keen on all things skull...yeah probably...just a little...

I recently picked up a new Tim Holtz Halloween set that had stamps, dies and an embossing folder, so of course I used them ALL on my Halloween coaster.

This was a super fun inky mess to make, between inking and spritzing the background to dying the ribbon to match, it's a good thing it's the weekend and I don't have to go to work with orange and black fingers!

Shite I used to make this coaster:

  • Chipboard coaster
  • Black Soot, Carved Pumpkin & Frayed Burlap distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Hocus Pocus stamp, die and embossing folder set (Tim Holtz)
  • Crinkle ribbon (Tim Holtz)
  • Water brush (Tim Holtz)
  • Water spritzer (SU)
  • Googly eyes (Michaels)
As always, Edna would love you to play along and join the sisterhood.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

Shopping Our Stash #376 - Pink is the New Orange

Greetings friends!

Thanks for visiting to check out the newest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH.

This week Mimi is our host, and she has chosen "Pink is the New Orange" as our challenge theme.

You can use primarily pink, or primarily orange, or you can live dangerously and use both together!!

Remember, October is breast cancer awareness month, so we'd really like to see some {{GAH!!}} pink in there!!

I went the dangerous route and am overwhelmingly pleased with myself at how my card came out!
Who knew pink and orange worked so awesomely together??
Well I guess Mimi did!!!

I blame Chris for my new smooshing addiction, yep, that is ANOTHER smooshed background using Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry distress inks.

Once I made the background piece, I ran it through the cuttlebug in the Halloween Words embossing folder, then rubbed the whole thing down with black ink. Sweet right????

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Pixie Pink cardstock (SU)
  • Picked Raspberry & Carved Pumpkin distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Halloween Words texture fades embossing folder (Tim Holtz)
  • Pumpkin punch (Martha Stewart)
  • Acetate
  • Water spritzer (SU)
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along!
