SoSS 152 - A is for Anti Valentine

Greetings & salutations snarky pals!!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the newest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

We are not much for the touchy feely here at the sisterhood, all that lovely dovey stuff....barf!!

We have always taken a different approach to Valentine's Day - as you can see from Edna's t-shirt.

Our very first challenge way back in February 2014 was A is for Anti Valentine...and we have celebrated it every year since!

This year, I made an ATC that soooooo accurately describes my soon to be 13 year marriage to the Kevinator...without him...who would make me tea and toast???

I bought myself a little handheld Singer sewing machine from Amazon and this was my first attempt at some crafty stitching. It went off the rails in a few spots, but the biggest oooops is under the cupcake, so it's all good LOL

Shite I used to make this ATC:

  • Cardboard ATC base
  • Ancient & retired SU design paper
  • Cupcake die cut (Recollections)
  • Heart sticker from a planner set (Recollections)
  • Small Talk Snarky Occasion sentiment sticker (Tim Holtz)
  • Sewing machine (Swinger)
As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with the rest of the sisterhood!

Shopping Our Stash #412 - Winter Blues

Greetings and salutations crafty pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH.

Yours truly is hosting the challenge and our theme is Winter Blues.

That means we want to see something winter related on your project or you can use predominantly blue.

I went with mostly blue and made a few mini albums with the Home Again collection by Carta Bella.

I started with THIS YOUTUBE TUTORIAL and within a day I had made ***gasp*** six mini albums. I also scored seven more to make a few Christmas themed ones...yep I am THAT kind of crafter...tad obsessive perhaps??

Anywho, I am finding these mini albums are a great way to use a stashed kit and goodness knows I have a LOT of those!

Because I am a rebel, I deviated from the tutorial quite a bit.
She started with two sheets of 12 x 12 paper, I started with one.
I thought matting each page was a waste of paper, so instead I made pockets that you could pop pictures or other mementos into.

Here are the three I made for this challenge:

I made the one on the left first, so I will show you what that looks like when it flips open.

Here's the cover:

The cover flips up and you get these two pages:

Lastly the bottom flap on the picture above flips open and you get these three pages.

The blue checked paper is popped up on three sides with foam tape to create little pockets.

Seriously, give the tutorial a go, they are super fun to make and once you've done one and got the feel for it, you can bang em out any ole way you like!

Shite I used to make these mini albums:

  • Home Again design paper, element stickers, chipboard accents, frames & tags (Carta Bella)
  • Corner rounder punch (SU)
  • Foam tape (Dollar Tree)
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along!

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG.

While you are there, please share some crafty love and comments with the rest of the crew.

Getting Sketchy

I have a few January birthday cards to make and get out in the mail for a couple of my online crafty friends.

I started with this sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

And created these using the "Let's Travel" collection from Carta Bella.
I love love love the soft colours and the fun designs!

I hand stitched around the edges of the journal cards to give them a fun little border.

Shite I used to make these cards:
  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • Let's Travel design paper, enamel dots & chipboard accents (Carta Bella)
  • Small Talk Occasions sentiment sticker (Tim Holtz)
  • White thread and needle (Dollarama)
I would like to enter these cards for  CAS(E) This Sketch #354

Happy Little Stampers - January ATC Challenge - Masculine

Hey friends! Happy New Year and wishing you the very best for 2020!

I am over the moon excited to have been invited to be part of the Happy Little Stampers ATC team for the first half of 2020!

Our theme for January is Masculine.

Here is what I made using the Deep Blue Sea collection from Carta Bella.

Shite I used to make this ATC:

  • Cardboard ATC base
  • Deep Blue Sea 6x6 paper pack (Carta Bella)
  • Deep Bue Sea element stickers (Carta Bella)

I cut the sentiment from the shiny cover sheet that you get with paper kits, you know the one that shows you the papers etc. that are inside...yep, I am that frugal!!

We would love for you to take up the challenge and join us!

You can find all the details for the challenge on the Happy Little Stampers Blog.

While you are there please share some crafty love and comments with the rest of the ATC team!

First Christmas Card of 2020

I know, I know, I know, I said I was tired of making Christmas cards.
But that was so like, 2019!
LOL

When I saw the challenges on Jingle Belles and Christmas Kickstart, I knew exactly what I wanted to make.

I had cut these super cute penguins off a gift bag that was torn beyond all repair (not like I wouldn't cut up a perfectly good one) and they are a perfect fit for No Time Like the Presents and Penguin Parade.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • Snowflake design paper (Recollections)
  • Penguin (off the gift bag)
  • Small Talk Occasions sentiment sticker (Tim Holtz)
  • Mermaid Lagoon distress marker (Tim Holtz)
  • Ruler
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
