Shopping Our Stash #365 - Shaker Cards

Greetings crafty friends!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH

Chana is our host this week and we are making shaker cards!!

I readily admit I always defer to a tutorial when I make shaker cards, this time I used this water filled shaker card video from Lawn Fawn

I am not entirely sure I am keen on my result (too much glitter) but this was my second attempt and it's what I am rolling with!

Not sure if you can see the water level through all the glitter, but it's about where the fish's birthday hat starts (refer to pointy finger below)

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Broken China distress ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Blue Skies Blue, Deep Blue Sea, Hot Aqua, Key Lime & Sunset Orange markers (Bic)
  • Birthday Buddies stamp set (Paper Smooches)
  • Glitter (Dollarama)
  • Acetate transparency sheets (Grand & Toy)
  • 1 3/4" circle punch (SU)
  • Pencil eraser and stylus for "bubbles"
  • Paper piercer & mat (SU)
  • Fine tip Sharpie
  • Mini plastic bag (Dollarama)
As always, we would love for you to join the crew and shake along with us!

SoSS #115 - J is for Junk

Greetings & salutations snarky pals!

Looks like Edna's inner hoarder is making its way to the surface!

Like the rest of us, over time, we accumulate A LOT of junk...so why not put it to good use?

Let's see ya use it somehow on a crafty project!!

I call this an "alphabet soup" ATC. I used a lot of junk on it including two washers that my kid had salvaged (oh look something shiny) and that I subsequently found in the laundry...perfect, paint em up and throw em on an ATC!

The ATC card base is made from an old cereal box. I hate recycling cardboard that I think I could use for something later on, so I tend to cut it up into ATC bases, I have A LOT of ATC bases!

The rest of the "junk" is a random mish-mash of stuff in my craft room, paints, stencils, chipboard that I never use...

Shite I used to make this ATC:

  • Cardboard ATC base
  • Doily, Speckles, Bubble stencils (Tim Holtz)
  • Pea Shoot, Pool and Purple Yam paint (Martha Stewart)
  • Spun Sugar distress paint (Tim Holtz)
  • Pure Gold metallic paint (Folk Art)
  • Washers
  • Chipboard Pops (Pink Paislee)
  • Silver Stickles
  • Alphabet stamp set (Studio G)
  • Fine tip Sharpie
As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along!

SoSS #114 - C is for Colouring

Greetings friends!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the new challenge from Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers.

Much to my dismay, Edna is making us colour this week.

I effin' HATE colouring.

So I turned it back on the old bat and made a colouring sheet out of her.

All was going well, I spent way too long colouring, was relatively satisfied with my supreme shite colouring job and left it on the desk overnight.

Then I get a call from the husband...he was watering the garden (nice of him to do right???).

Things went south when he went to turn the water off, turned the tap the wrong way and sent water shooting in through the window of what room???

Of course, the office where I had left Edna...ugh...

Anywho, a little water damaged and worse for wear, here she is, I gave her sunglasses because her eyes looked way wonky after I coloured them 😒

Shite I used to make this:

  • White cardstock
  • Way too many bic markers to list
  • Fine tip sharpie
  • Alphabet stamp set (Studio G)
If you hate to colour as much as I do...suck it up and play along!

You can find all the details on the SoSS BLOG

While you are there please not only admire our colouring skills but leave some love and comments for the rest of the sisterhood and our reigning queen!
