Shopping Our Stash #318 - Your Favourite Season

Greetings pals!

Can you believe that we are in the last week of August already??

September is just a few short days away...what happened to summer??

Here in Southern Ontario, the kidlets will be heading back to school (YAY) right after Labour Day (YAY).

This week the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH want to know what your favourite season is.

Are you sad to see the hot sunny days of summer come to an end? Are you waiting and wishing for snow??

Fall is my favourite season, the changing of the leaves, the weather getting cooler...I just love it!

I dug deep into my stash for this one, going back to a card kit from October 2014!!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Crumb Cake cardstock (SU)
  • Harvest Lane design paper, expressions cardstock stickers and fundamentals cardstock stickers (Simple Stories)
  • Corrugated shapes (Little Yellow Bicycle)
  • Fence punch (Martha Stewart)
  • Jute string (Tim Holtz)
  • Stapler
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along.

SoSS #91 - W is for Wedding

Greetings snarky pals!!

Thanks for stopping by today to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

I am not entirely convinced that Edna is excited about her pending nuptials. She looks a bit blue perhaps?? And that ball and chain can't be helping much.

Nevertheless, to help her celebrate, Edna has deemed the sisterhood make wedding themed cards. Could be something old, something new, something borrowed or something blue (or all of those if you are really good).

I went with something old. Like an old card kit that was just sitting there with all it's pretty papers, waiting to be used (hmmmmmm and Edna analogy perhaps??).

I have a (male) cousin who recently got engaged. Wedding cards are usually so girly, so I was inspired to make a more "manly" wedding card.

Perhaps our friend Walter here could be Edna's beloved?? Hmmmm I am not sure, he seems a bit bossy. The alpha stickers didn't have a question mark, so his "Marry Me" is more of a demand than a question. I don't think our Edna will have any of that!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Walter stamp (Riley & Co)
  • We Are Family design paper and alpha stickers (Echo Park)
  • Fishtail / Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • 2 1/2" circle punch (SU)
And no, I know you are wondering, I didn't put that layer with the banners on upside down...although yes, I did try it the other way round and liked it better with the banners coming up from the bottom.

As always, we would love for you to get hitched to the sisterhood and play along.

Shopping Our Stash #316 - Chillaxing & Relaxin

Greetings friends!

Thanks for stopping by today to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH!

Did you know that August 15th is National Relaxation Day? Neither did I!

For this challenge we would like you to show us how you chillax!

For me, it would be sitting in my backyard around the campfire with an extra large steeped tea from Tim Hortons (I know, super Canadian right???)

I used a Tim Hortons cup on my card, obviously the first way is the die cut for the cup, the second way was to dip the bottom of it in ink to make the circle tea stains. I also cut up the sleeve on the tea to make a smaller version for my card.

Note to self - this is not the best of ideas while you are still drinking said tea...your hands end up all inky when you forget you inked up the bottom of the cup!!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Early Espresso cardstock and ink (SU)
  • Tim Hortons cup and sleeve
  • Maple leaf punch (Martha Stewart)
  • Fired Brick distress ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Slang Gang stamp set (Paper Smooches)
  • Mini ink blender tool (Tim Holtz)
  • Pencil eraser
As always, we would love for you to grab your favourite cuppa and show us how YOU chillax!

SoSS #90 - M is for Mink

Greetings friends!!

Thanks for stopping by today to check out the newest challenge from Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers!

As you can see, Edna has donned her finest mink for this challenge and she wants you to do the same.

That means we need to see a furry critter somewhere on your project this time around.

I am hoping that cows do indeed have fur...the verdict is out on that one...I googled "do cows have fur" and was more confused than when I started, so for the purpose of this challenge we are all going to assume that cows do in fact have fur...OK????

I went more cutesie than snarky on this one...but I guess I could add some inside snark inside later on.

I hate colouring, so I chose the cow mostly based on the fact that I could leave it black and white. I didn't want to bugger it up by attempting to colour the nose, so I stamped it again on pink cardstock and paper pieced it.

Yes, I hate colouring THAT much!!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Pink cardstock (Recollections)
  • Gumball Green cardstock (SU)
  • Sunday Afternoon mat pack (DCWV)
  • Chubby Chums stamp set (Paper Smooches)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Polaroid die (Paper Smooches)
  • Paper piercer and mat (SU)
  • Fine tip sharpie
As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.
