SoSS #46 - K is for Kitties

Welcome back to the sisterhood snarky pals! This week Edna and the sisters (I say in honour of Halloween...but who really knows) are favouring the familiar of all good witches...the kitty!

I had one {{and only one}} idea for this challenge. So I made my card early and uploaded it to our design team group (so unlike me) before any of my snarky sisters could steal my idea LOL

Luckily I also have one {{and only one}} kitty stamp.

The contrasting zig zagging design papers are meant to mesmerize you into a peaceful sleep mode, just like soft kitty.

If you are not familiar with soft kitty, here is a link for you:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds2VWVR97J0

And here's what I made for the challenge:

Yes, there is a LOT of fussy cutting on that kitty...teeny tiny little ears, eyes, stripes and paws...and how could I made a kitty without a teeny tiny pink nose???

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White & pink cardstock (Recollections)
  • Color Vibe Bolds - Black design paper (Simple Stories)
  • Orange Strands design paper (Bella Blvd)
  • Chubby Chums stamp set (paper smooches)
  • Computer generated sentiment
Visit the SoSS BLOG for all the details on the challenge.

While you are there check out the blogs of our Guest Designer Leslie and the rest of the sisterhood.

If you'd like to join in all the kitty-tastic fun, you have until 11:55 EST on Friday November the 13th (FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!) to upload your project to the SoSS BLOG.

Maybe YOU will be our next Queen or Princess of Snark!

Thanks to SISTER BARB for telling us about the Cat Lovers Hop over at Her Peaceful Garden

I am also linking my kitty card up for the hop!

Shopping Our Stash #225 - Go Paperless

Greetings and happy Tuesday crafty friends! Thanks for coming back for a new challenge with the SHOPPING OUR STASH crew.

This week we want you to Go Paperless...no design paper on your projects this week.

Here's what I made for the challenge:

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White and pink cardstock (Recollections)
  • Sleigh Ride edgelits dies (SU)
  • Jingle All The Way stamp set (SU)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Stampin Chalk Marker (SU)
I tried to do the snowy background with the snow stamp that comes in the Jingle All The Way stamp set, but it kept smudging, so after 3 or 4 attempts I gave up and used the chalk marker...much easier.

I will also admit I made this card as a two-fer to upload for the JINGLE BELLES Pink Christmas challenge but as usual I am a dollar short and a day late and that challenge ended...sigh...

All is not lost, it kinda fits their current Do You Sketch What I Sketch challenge so I am going to link it up anyway :)

Be sure to visit the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there please show some crafty love to the rest of the crew! We'd love for you to play along with us!!

Shopping Our Stash #224 - Caffeine Fix

This week week the SHOPPING OUR STASH crew want to know how you get your Caffeine Fix.

For me, that's easy, I am a total tea granny! I blame my English upbringing and yes, I am a total tea snob. Has to come out of a pot and off a rolling boil, NOT a tea bag dropped in a lukewarm cup of water....YUCK

I had a bunch of this background paper already cut for some card making we did at work last week, I think it goes well with the retro stamp.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White and black cardstock (Recollections)
  • Design paper (SU - retired)
  • Oval die (Nestabilities)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Sentiment stolen from Facebook, recreated with a label maker
  • Black Soot distress marker (Tim Holtz)
  • Paper piercer, mat and template (SU)
  • Coffee lady stamp (Riley & Company)
Visit the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there show the rest of the crew some crafty lovin' won't you? We'd play along with us!

Shopping Our Stash # 223 - I Can See Clearly

This week's theme at SHOPPING OUR STASH is "I Can See Clearly"

The SOS crew would like to see acetate somewhere on your card (or you could make a shaker card).

I am completely shaker card impaired, so I used acetate. I like the look of an embossed acetate sheet as the card base, so that's what I did.

It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but the front of the card is embossed with a spider web.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • Acetate sheet (3M)
  • Black and white cardstock (Recollections)
  • Cobwebs embossing folder (Tim Holtz)
  • Trick or Treat stamp set (Inkadinkado)
  • All Hallow's Eve stamp set (inkadinkado)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Basic Black marker (SU)
  • Mini ink blender tool (Tim Holtz)
Yesterday was Thanksgiving for us crazy Canucks....so after I made this awesome Halloween card, I made a set of these super deluxe Thanksgiving cards for my in laws:

Shite I used to make this card:

  • Acetate sheet (3M)
  • Kraft and white cardstock (Recollections)
  • Woodgrain embossing folder (ProvoCraft)
  • #hastags stamp set (Tim Holtz)
  • Frayed Burlap distress ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Early Espresso ink (SU)
  • Maple Leaf punches (Martha Stewart)
  • Fishtail / Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
Visit the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there please show the rest of the crew some crafty lovin!
We'd love for you to play along with us!

Happy 18th Birthday #1 phew!!!!

I know, I know...two blog posts in one day...totally not like me, but I gots stuff I gots to get done!

Hard to believe my #1 phew is going to be 18 this weekend!!! Where has the time gone??

#1 phew is a staunch supporter of the Liberal Party (ugh) and with the upcoming Federal Election he is SUPER excited that he will be able to vote this year (if only everyone was so motivated to vote).

So while I kid that I will vote to cancel out his vote, I thought a red card with a play on the Justin Trudeau ads by the other parties would be funny for his birthday.

I wanted to add "nice hair though" on there somewhere but ran out of space so maybe I'll write it on the inside...he he he

Shite I used to make this card:

  • Red and white cardstock (Recollections)
  • Black puffy letters (from an old card kit, not sure who made them I threw out the packaging)
  • Maple leaf punch (Martha Stewart)

Work Weddings!!

There have been four weddings at my workplace over the summer.
I was asked to make some cards for the newlyweds, here's what I came up with:

Shite I used to make this card:

  • Black and white cardstock (Recollections)
  • Large heart punch (SU)
  • Swiss Dots embossing folder (ProvoCraft)
  • Fishtail Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
  • Word Up stamp set (Paper Smooches)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)

SOS # 222 - Happy (Oldest) Birthday!

This week the SHOPPING OUR STASH crew want to see your very oldest birthday supply (a stamp, paper...whatever).

I had this one all planned out, going to use my Itty Bitty Birthday stamp, one of the very first stamp sets I bought from SU....ages ago...and the little happy birthday stamps fits perfectly in the word window punch....also something I bought ages ago from SU.

Well I still have the word window punch...but no Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set. I must have sold it last summer when I was purging a lot of my stamping supplies that I wasn't using...figures....so back to the drawing board!

I found this sketch HERE without realizing it was the same page I got another sketch from recently lol turns out she has a lot of sketches that I like...no wonder I keep going back!!

Anyway, here is the sketch I started with:

And here's what I made:

It's getting so dark so early, I had to take this one in my craft room. The camera on my new phone (Samsung S6) is sooooo much better than my old Blackberry Z10!

Anyway, my "oldest" birthday thing is still the stamp set, it's "Happy Everything" from Lawn Fawn and it's my go to occasion stamp set and I've had it for years.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • 1" circle punch (SU)
  • Color Vibe Bolds design paper Simple Stories)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Fishtail & Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
Want to play along? We'd love for you to join us! Check out the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there show the rest of the crew some crafty lovin!

I used another sketch for my card, one I found HERE that looked like this:

I kind of stuck to the sketch, other than the sentiment, I HAVE to have something off kilter somwhere on a card right??

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Pumpkin design paper (Pebbles Inc.)
  • Computer generated sentiment
  • Tattoed Jessica Rabbit image (found HERE)
  • Fishtail & Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
  • Black sequins (Joanns)

Have you noticed that my blog posts are getting BIGGER???
