Shopping Our Stash #330 - Quick Thank You

Greetings crafty friends!

Thanks for coming by today to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH

This week we want you to make a quick thank you card, and by quick we mean 30 minutes or less (and time yourself).

I made my card in 21 minutes, which included at least 5 minutes of thinking of how to cover up an annoying ink smudge - which resulted in adding the pencil eraser dots lol

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Teal cardstock (Recollections)
  • Sentiment Sampler & Word Up stamp sets (Paper Smooches)
  • Twisted Citron, Candied Apple, Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade, Wilted Violet & Carved Pumpkin distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Pencil eraser
As always we would love for you to join the crew and play along!

You can find all the details for the challenge over on the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG

While you are there please share some crafty loves and comments with the rest of the crew!

Shopping Our Stash #228 - Thanks

Happy Tuesday crafty peeps! Thanks for coming back to check out the new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH!

In honour (I guess I should say honor) of American Thanksgiving, this week the SOS crew want to see your Thanks projects, could be Thanksgiving related or just a generic Thanks like I did.

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
  • Blue cardstock (SU)
  • Polka dot design paper (SU, retired)
  • Fishtail & Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
  • "Jingle" thickers (American Crafts)
  • Blue bling (CTMH)
I started with this sketch which I saw on LESLIE'S BLOG from REVERSE CONFETTI, I didn't use any of their stuff on my card so I am not linking it up, but I did like the sketch, so I decided to use it anyway.

Check out the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there please show the rest of the crew some crafty lovin! We'd love for you to play along with us!!

SoSS 20 - T is for Thanks (...for nothing)

Happy Happy Happy Saturday!!! Hope you are like me and TOTALLY overindulged on Halloween treats!!! Mmmmmmmmmmm Reece peanut butter cups!!!

The snarky sisters are back with another fun challenge this week....T is for Thanks (...for nothing). You can make a Thank You card...or a Thanks for Nothing card...ha ha ha ha ha ha I love any challenge that allows me to get my snark on!

Visit the SoSS BLOG for all the details on this challenge and while you are there, show our Guest Designer MAJO and the rest of the sisters some crafty lovin!!

I call my project for this challenge "Donna and Chad go Trick or Treating." Donna, that would be me...and Chad, that would be my younger brother. I don't know about you, but we never appreciated raisins in our trick or treat bags LOL

SISTER JESSI pointed out to me that the silhouette trick or treaters reminded her of It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown....when poor old Charlie Brown got a rock in his trick or treat bag.

WARNING...SLIGHT PROFANITY AHEAD

OK, you've been warned...

Shite I used to make this card:

Hybrid Thank You Card

I had a request from work to design 50 thank you cards for one of our projects.

The card had to have the logo for the project as well as the logos for our agency, the funder and community partners. I thought it would be easier to design the card digitally, print it and stamp thank you on the outside. He even did the green and yellow layers digitally (I didn't even want to think about how to print, cut / punch all those logos for 50 cards LOL).

So I asked for some help from a friend of mine who has WAY better graphic design skills than I have, he designed the front of the card, then all I had to do was print them and stamp "Thank You" on the inside.

Cousins are a girl's best friend!!!

Recently my lovely "girl cousins" took me out for dinner to celebrate Joel's adoption. I have always felt lucky to come from a large family and have always felt blessed to have LOTS of cousins.

I made a set of six of these thank you cards for the girls who took me out a few weeks ago. I forgot to take the filmstrip frame setting off my camera when I took the picture...ooops :)

SUPPLIES:

White card stock (gift from my friend Georgina), kraft and black cardstock
Pink chevron DP - Amy Tangerine "Sketchbook" from the Scraptures July 2012 card kit
Twit Twoo stamp set (branch and sentiment) by Kelly Panacci (gift from my friend Jessi)
Versamark ink
Black embossing powder
SU owl & extra large oval punch

This week's class - sneak peek :)

Here's a quick sneak peek at a few of the projects we're going to make in this week's class...

First up, a top note pocket card (similar to the one in a previous post from the shoebox swap). This one uses kiwi kiss and mostly mustard.

Next up, a cute mini coaster clipboard...this one features one of the stamp sets from the new Stampin Up! catalogue called Game Night. I thought this would be cute to use when having friends over for games...a score keeping notepad. I plan to add a pad of 3x3 sticky notes and I think I would use a black or red clip but white was all I had at home.
Unfortunately, because it's bulky, this didn't scan very well...but you get the idea.

I think our 3rd project for this card will be a spiral card featuring another new Stampin' Up! stamp set called Just Buzzin' By...we'll see if I have it in me to make another project tonight :)

3X3 Note Cards

Made a set of twenty 3x3 note cards for a friend, 5 each of these four designs:

My first Stampin' Up! Mega Meeting

And WOW, what a MEGA meeting it was! I think there were about 80 women all together. We swapped cards, learned lots of new techniques (marbles are my new fave!!) and did some great make and takes featuring some of the new SU sets.

Some familiar faces, lots of new friends, what a great way to spend the day!!

Here are some pics of the make and take cards we made:
