Shopping Our Stash #199 - Opposite Day

Greetings crafty friends! Thanks for coming back to visit for the new SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge this week!

This week's theme is Opposite Day. The SOS Crew would like you to use something that is opposite of your usual style. For example, if you are usually CAS, use a really frou-frou ribbon.

For me this was a pretty easy challenge...there are lots of things I never attempt on cards.

1. I don't tend to use a lot of design paper on cards. If I do, I NEVER use contrasting papers on the same card.

2. I have the world's shakiest hands, so I don't ever draw borders on cards.

For this challenge, I have tried to do both, here's what I made:

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White cardstock (Recollections)
  • December Documented design papers (Simple Stories)
  • December Documented fundamental stickers (Simple Stories)
  • Santa's Greeting stamp (CTMH)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Black Soot distress marker (Tim Holtz)
  • Round tag (found it in my stash)
Be sure to check out the SOS BLOG for all the details on this challenge and while you are there be sure to show my teammates some crafty lovin!

I used the most recent JINGLE BELLES sketch below as the basis for my card.

I'd like to enter my card in the Jingle Belles We Wish You a Merry Sketchmas challenge.

Easter Bunny Silhouette - The Cheerful Stamp Pad Challenge 108

My good friend BARB is on the design team for THE CHEERFUL STAMP PAD, their latest challenge is a Silhouette challenge. I loved Barb's reindeer silhouette card so much, I decided to play along with the challenge.

Here's what I made for the challenge...an Easter bunny silhouette card.

I love this type of card, the base is a flat piece of 5.5" x 4.25" cardstock (the Early Espresso here) and the card is a folded piece of 10" x 3.75" piece of cardstock (the white cardstock).

So it's actually the smaller white cardstock that opens...just a bit of a different fold, super cute, quick and easy to make and flat for mailing YAY!!

You can only see the silhouette of the bunny's head through the window in the front of the card, when you open the card...luckily no-one has taken a bite of his bum (YET).

SHITE I USED TO MAKE THIS CARD:

  • Early Espresso cardstock and ink (SU)
  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • 1 3/4 " circle punch (SU)
  • 2" circle punch (Marvy)
  • Happy Everything stamp set (Lawn Fawn)
  • Bunny die )Tim Holtz)
