Shopping Our Stash #401 - Base It On A Book

Greetings & salutations crafty pals!!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH

Yours truly is the host this week...and I have been soooooooooo wanting to use some of the awesome Alice in Wonderland design paper that the lovely Mimi sent to me, that I built the challenge around it (doesn't hurt that it is also my all time favourite book right???)

Our theme is Base It On A Book...that means we want to see something book related on your project. You can use a book theme like I did, pages from a book, a quote from a book....whatever you like.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Alice in Wonderland design paper (Echo Park)
  • Elegant butterfly punch (SU)
  • Bling (Dollarama)
  • Alice image / quote found HERE (Pinterest)
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG

While you are there please share some crafty love and comments with the rest of our crew!

SoSS #140 - S is for Sea

Greetings snarky pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers...S is for Sea

Timely challenge for me on this one, as you read this I will be sitting seaside in lovely Prince Edward Island.

Which, naturally, means I needed to use the lobster dies I got a few years ago in PEI!

If you are not sure that the whole "you are my lobster" thing is all about...HERE is a clip from Friends which explains it better than I can.

I am working on convincing the Kevinator that we should get cute little lobster tattoos...while we are in PEI...right???!!!???

Cuz...you know...he's my lobster!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • "Stay Magical" paper pad (Craft Smith)
  • Whisper White cardstock (SU)
  • Red cardstock (Recollections)
  • Polariod die (Paper Smooches)
  • Deep Ocean Lobster die (Memory Box)
  • Bling strips (Recollections)
  • Label maker (Brother)
As always, we could love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

Shopping Our Stash #399 - The Dreaded ONE LAYER CARD

Greetings & salutations crafty pals!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH.

Yours truly is the host this week and for some reason I picked the dreaded  ONE LAYER CARD as our theme

I struggle making one layer cards, but if you check out the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG you will see exactly how it's done by my crewmates!

So here's what I made:
(warning this post is about to get picture heavy)

Not bad right?

I made the background by inking up a stamp block and spritzing it with water then pressing it on the paper, once, twice, maybe a few more...

Then easy peasy lemon squeezy I added the image and sentiment in black.

I was SO impressed with myself for making a one layer card that I kinda liked, that I made six more   LOL

Here they come:
(this is the pic heavy part of the post)

Shite I used to make these cards:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Clear stamping block (SU)
  • Candied Apple, Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry & Black Soot distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • We Totally Click, Green Acres, Slang Gang and Chubby Chums stamp sets (Paper Smooches)
As always we would love for you to join our crew and play along!!
