SoSS #71 - W is for Watercolour

Greetings crafty & snarky pals. Thanks for popping by to check out the latest challenge brought to you by Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers!

W is for Watercolour

As you will see when you check out the projects of our Queen and Guest Designer Lauren and my snarky sisters....some of us (NOT ME) can rock a watercolour challenge.

I took (in my opinion) the easy way out and made a watercolour-ish background with distress inks and a water spritzer and I used a water pen to colour (some parts of) my grumpy moose.

I adore adore adore these Holiday Grumplings stamps (and dies) from Taylored Expressions. Look how cranky that moose is!!! He is the me of moose!!!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Ground Espresso, Candied Apple and Lucky Clover distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple, Lucky Clover, Pumice Stone, Walnut Stain distress markers (Tim Holtz)
  • 2 1/2" and 1 3/4" circle punches (SU)
  • Holiday Grumplings stamp set and dies (Taylored Expressions)
  • Stickles (that's what those globs of glitter are lol, apparently I took the picture before they were dry...meh)
  • Water spritzer (SU)
  • Water brush (Tim Holtz)
As always, the sisterhood would be pleased as punch for you to play along. Maybe you will be our next Queen or Princess of Snark!!

Check out all the details on the challenge over on the SoSS BLOG and while you are there please share some crafty love with Lauren and my snarky sisters.

SoSS #70 - D is for Day of the Dead

Edna and the sisterhood are getting ready for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).

If you are not overly familiar with Dia de los Muertos, it is a day (or series of days) where friends and families gather together to remember and pray for their lost loved ones and to offer them support and love on their journey in the afterlife.

Probably won't come as a surprise to many that I have a stamp set specifically for Dia de Los Muertos.

Here's what I made for the challenge:

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Black cardstock (Recollections)
  • SugarSkulls stamp set (Bombshell Stamps)
  • Jet Black ink (Stazon)
  • Mustard Seed, Forest Moss, Mermaid Lagoon & Candied Apple distress markers (Tim Holtz)
  • Water brush (Tim Holtz)
As always, we'd love for you to join the sisterhood and play along. Check out all the details of the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there, please share some crafty lovin' with the rest of the sisterhood and our guest designer.

Happy Birthday #1 Phew!!!

Wishing my #1 (and only) phew a very very very happy birthday today!!

19 years old, hard to imagine!

I hold very few people near & dear to my heart, but this one, he's my everything.

It was super amazing to have him vacation with us this summer in PEI. Here is one of my favourite pictures from that trip, his very first island Lobster Supper.

This is the first time I have looked at a picture of the two of us and thought, hey, we kinda look alike! Even sitting down you can tell that he is a foot taller than I am LOL

Here's the card I made him for his birthday

SoSS #69 - Pink Halloween

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

No no no, not back to school! HALLOWEEN!!!

I adore Halloween!! I decorate my house more for Halloween than for Christmas! I love everything about Halloween, bats, witches, skulls, Reece peanut butter cups in convenient serving sizes...Halloween is just the best!!

And I am sure you are like me and when you think Halloween, the first colour that comes to mind is pink...right??!!??

Hmmmmmmph!! Every year Edna picks {{{gah}}} PINK for our Halloween challenge...and it's a challenge all right!

Halloween screams for black, green, orange and maybe even a little yellow. But we don't like to make things TOO easy for you...so here we go PINK HALLOWEEN!!

Admittedly I took the easy way out and used pink as a background colour and still managed to get a black bat in there.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Black cardstock (Recollections)
  • PIXIE PINK cardstock (SU)
  • 1 3/4" circle punch (SU)
  • Bat punch (SU)
  • Spiderweb embossing folder (Tim Holtz)
  • Happy Everything stamp set (Lawn Fawn)
  • Fishtail Banner die set (Your Next Stamp)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
As always, we'd love for you to join the sisterhood and play along. Check out the SoSS BLOG for all the details on the challenge.

While you are there please share some crafty lovin' with my snarky sisters and our guest designer.
