I completely LOVE that Joel shares my love for hangin' out in the craft room gettin' messy. He's been working on this haunted house for DAYS!!!
With some finishing touches this morning he has decided it's finished.
He punched and crimped the shingles for the roof, coloured and spritzed the screen door, stamped scary halloween-y vampires, bats and skeltons, used the cuttlebug to cut out a skull, made a row of pumpkins for the lawn and hung bats from the telephone wire! On the side that you can't see, he used the owl punch to make some googly eyed ghosts too!
I don't think the pictures do justice to all the hard craft work that went into this creation!!
Here's a close up of the screen door (note the skull door knob & ghost inside)
Look what I made!!
Drunken Stampers Challenge 143 - Die Cuts
Happy Happy Saturday!!! The Yellow Canaries are back this week with a THING based challenge. Be sure to check out the DRUNKEN STAMPERS BLOG for all the details on this week's challenge.
I love Halloween!! Any excuse to make a Halloween card, I am all over it...so for this challenge I thought I would use my skull and crossbones die cut. Then I thought it would be fun to add Oct 31 in matching design paper using a different set of alphabet dies...so here's what I came up with...
I also used scraps of the design paper under the skull to make the eye and nose holes stand out a little more.
SUPPLIES:
Basic Black cardstock (SU)
Retired design paper (SU)
Core-dinations cardstock (Tim Holtz)
Skull & alphabet dies (Provo Craft)
Sanding block (SU)
Want to play along??? You have until 11:59 PM on Friday October 4th to upload your project to the Drunken Stampers Blog...maybe you will be our next Life of the Party!!

I am NOT very good at CAS (clean and simple) cards, for some reason I feel like every piece of white space has to be filled in...yes I know...I am working on that...HA HA HA
So here's what I came up with based on the Pinterest cards:

Scraptures - Finally Friday - September 20, 2013
It's Friday....that means it's time to hop on over to SCRAPTURES for another Finally Friday challenge!!
For this week's Finally Friday I wanted to make a wedding card...but a different kind of wedding card. My cousin is getting married this weekend and he is a thrash-metal-drummer-tattooed kinda fella, so I didn't think the typical hearts and frills wedding card would work for him and his lovely bride-to-be. I wanted to make something kind of steampunk-ish, so this week's Finally Friday is a mish-mash of different things, including the gold bling which were "borrowed" from his sister's wedding in April...shhhhhhhhhh....

Scraptures - Finally Friday - September 13
Happy Friday the 13th!!
For this week's Finally Friday over at SCRAPTURES I used the papers and element stickers in the September card kit for a quick and easy layout...the papers are perfect for a picture I took during one of our first family game nights.
Joel chose Monopoly and I think the look on his face says it all...

Every Wednesday is "WILD CARD WEDNESDAY" over at SCRAPTURES. This month Chelle is working with the September card kit featuring "Well Played" by Bella Carta. You can see her card here on the Scraptures Blog.
Here's my take on Chelle's card, instead of balloons I used circles punched from the chevron DP I had used on another project (you can see that one tomorrow).

This month's card kit from SCRAPTURES features Carta Bella "Well Played" and I am loving the papers in the kit! I made this card with a certain friend in mind who is going through some "stuff" these days...luckily she has a strong sense of faith and an excellent sense of humour, so I know that for her, the best IS yet to come.
Cousins are a girl's best friend!!!
Recently my lovely "girl cousins" took me out for dinner to celebrate Joel's adoption. I have always felt lucky to come from a large family and have always felt blessed to have LOTS of cousins.
I made a set of six of these thank you cards for the girls who took me out a few weeks ago. I forgot to take the filmstrip frame setting off my camera when I took the picture...ooops :)
