Drunken Stampers Challenge #99 ~ Confessions of a Shopaholic

WOW!!!! Can you believe this week is Drunken Stampers 99th challenge???
Team Mojito is up this week, but I wanted to play along...in fact I ordered this stamp from Graphicat Stamps specifically for this challenge!! I had purchased the digital image previously...but I am seriously digitally impaired....rubber is MUCH easier for me to work with.
This week's challenge is to use either shoes or purses on your card...
I love anywhere I can make a Halloween card fit a challenge :)
I stamped the image on watercolour paper and used my aqua painter to colour the shoe and the letters.

Don't forget to check out the Drunken Stampers blog to see all the Team Mojito projects for this challenge and leave them some love!!!

Not sure if you can see it in the picture, but I used some glimmer paint on the spider webs and shoe buckle to make them a little more sparkly :)

What's in it:
Cardstock - Concord Crush (SU) & watercolour paper
Design paper - retired Halloween paper (SU)
Inks - Concord Crush, Tangerine Tango & Gumball Green (SU)
Glimmer paint - Champagne Mist (SU)
Bling - gift from a Swat-Bot swap
Ribbon - Celebrate It Basics (Michael's)

Thanks for lookin!!

Happy Almost Thanksgiving

One of my co-workers asked me to make a set of 12 Thanksgiving cards for her.
At their thanksgiving dinner, they are going to pass the cards around and everyone writes something on that person's card that they are thankful for - what a great idea!! I got all 12 cards made at the Scraptures crop yesterday (yay me).
Here's what I came up with:

What's in it:
Cardstock -  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze (SU)
DP & sentiment are both SU (retired)
Ink - Cajun Craze (SU)

Drunken Stampers Challenge #98 - Old Loves Die Hard

Thanks for joining us again this week for another Drunken Stampers challenge! This week's challenge is "Old Loves Die Hard" ~ we want you to use something on your project that you haven't used in six months or more.
Click here to visit the Drunken Stampers Blog for all the details on this challenge and don't forget to complete ALL the challenges in September for your chance to win Spike's Trunk!!

This one was a toughie for me...there are so many things in my craft room that I haven't used in six months or more...my first choice was my I-Rock from Imaginisce...this was one of those I HAVE TO HAVE IT things that I bought at Scrapfest last year and once I used it again, I remembered why I put it in the drawer and haven't used it since...

Some other "old loves" I used on this card include my "Awesome Kids Set" from Graphicat Stamps (being a "short one" I love this sentiment) and my "Ebony" stamp from the Greeting Farm (I love the skull on her shirt). The design paper is retired from Stampin Up and I hardly ever use my copic markers (you can see why, my colouring SUCKS)...so those will count as "old loves" as well.

What's in it:
Cardstock - Basic Black & Whisper White (SU)
Design paper - Welcome Neighbour Designer Series Paper Pad (SU)
Bling - I-Rock (Imaginisce)
Ribbon - Celebrate It - Basic Narrows
Copic Markers
Stamps - Awesome Kids Set (Graphicat Stamps), Ebony (The Greeting Farm)

 Thanks for lookin!!

Return of Sock Monkey...

It's been a long time since I made a card with the Sock Monkey stamp set from SU.
This week one of my co-workers asked me to make a baby card for her with Sock Monkey on it. He really is a cute stamp...and yes...I know I am partial to sock monkeys...I stamped him on design paper and paper pieced his arms, legs, butt, head and smile.

What's in it:
Cardstock - Midnight Muse, Marina Mist & Whisper White (SU)
Ink - Midnight Muse (SU)
Stamp - Sock Monkey (SU)
Design Paper - retired Sale-a-Bration paper (SU)
Baby Boy Button (Stamping Bella)

Scraptures Wild Card Wednesday - Sept 12

This week over on Scraptures, Chelle's Wild Card Wednesday challenge was to use burlap and wood tickets that came in the September card kit.

The burlap turned out to be really fun to work with. I cut it to the size I wanted (5x5) then frayed the edges by pulling a few of the edge pieces off. Ever the frugal crafter, I used those pulled pieces on the ends of the wood tickets.

To make the flower, I punched 4 pieces from design paper using the Blossom punch, spritzed them with water and crinkled them up. I added a dimensional between each layer to give the flower some depth.

What's in it:
From the Scraptures September 2012 card kit:
Cardstock - Bazzill Basics - Sweet Heart
Burlap Fabric Page by Canvas Corp.
Design Paper - Kaiser Craft "Gypsy Sisters" - Rosa
DYNA Satin Burgundy Ribbon
Prima Wood Tickets
Recollections Washi Tape
Other supplies:
Paper piercer & template (SU)
Blossom Punch (SU)
Baja Breeze button (SU)

I am loving the colours and patterns of the Kaiser Craft "Gypsy Sisters" pattern paper in this month's kit.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it:

Reflections Tissue Washi Tape from Scraptures July 2012 card kit

Christmas in the craft shack...

Here`s the second sample I made today for our United Way Christmas card campaign at work.
Similar to the card I made recently for a Christmas in July swap with the Stampin Scrappin Roadtrippers group - but this time I stamped the image (colouring will take too much time) and I only added one layer of the punched cardstock behind the image. I also swapped out the Old Olive layer in the last card and used Gumball Green in this one, I like the brighter green of the cardstock and ink.

What's in it:
Cardstock - Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Gumball Green & Whisper White (SU)
Ribbon - Cherry Cobbler (SU)
Ink - Gumball Green (SU)
Stamps - All Holidays & Mixed Bunch (SU)
Punch - Blossom (SU)
Bling - Rhinestone Basic Jewels (SU)

Thanks for lookin!!

Less than 4 months til Christmas...

I am on the United Way committee at work. Last year we decided it would be fun to make some Christmas cards and take orders around the office as a fundraiser for the United Way.
We thought we would sell maybe 20 or 25 cards and make a few dollars for our campaign...well WOW we had orders for over 180 cards and spent countless lunch hours making cards to fill the orders!! This year we are starting earlier (like now!!) and are planning to keep the card pretty simple to make. Here is the first sample I made today:

What's in it:
Cardstock - Early Espresso & Whisper White (SU), silver (Michael's)
Ink - Early Espresso (SU)
Punches - snowflake & 1 3/4" circle (SU), 2" circle (marvy)
Stamp - Dasher (SU)

Thanks for lookin!!

Key - purchased at Scrapfest Kitchener

Drunken Stampers #96 - The Birds

This week's Drunken Stampers challenge is to feature a bird...I love the SU bird and owl punches, I use them a lot. For this challenge I wanted to use a punch to make something other than what it was intended for...so I used the owl punch to make a penguin!!

I cut off the ears and feet of the owl to make the penguin (and gave him cuter orange feet to match his beak). I also used the foot part of the owl to make the bottom of the balloons (a little trick I learned from SU demo Jenn Tinline)

Check out the Drunken Stampers blog for all the details on this challenge and be sure to visit the Design Team members blogs to see all the cards for this challenge.

I love the bright colours in the papers in this month's kit
Here's my version of the August 29th Wild Card Wednesday card:

What's in it?

Happy Halloween...ok not quite...

I love Halloween...I love everything to do with Halloween...bats, SKULLS, witches ...and of course bite size chocolate bars!!!

I saw this super cute Halloween card on Jenn Tinline's blog:

And knew that I wanted to CASE it...so have a look at Jenn's card first...(link above)...and here's my version:

I heat embossed the sentiment at the bottom to make it stand out a bit, I love that the O in Halloween is a little spider.
The stamp set (other than the sentiment) is Wicked Cool from Stampin Up
The coloured cardstock is Stampin Up as well, but all from scraps so I am not too sure what the yellow and orange are, the green is Garden Green and the purple is Wisteria Wonder
I added some CTMH bitty sparkles to the witches shoes, spider web and witches hat to bling it up a little.
The black ink is momento, tuxedo black and I used SU markers to add some colours to the witches socks and hat.

If I was going to make this card again, I would use SU whisper white for the images and sentiments, they just aren't very dark / crisp on the cardstock that I used...anyway...
Thanks for lookin!!!
