Shopping Our Stash #375- Giving Thanks

This week, yours truly is hosting and with Canadian Thanksgiving this week, our theme is "giving thanks."

Now, fear not, if you are not quite ready to jump into Thanksgiving, you could also make a generic thank you card.

I have a lot of Halloween paper in my stash, you can never have too much Halloween paper right??!!??

I made this Thanksgiving card with some of my Halloween paper:

And I liked it so much I made a bunch more (cuz you can never have too many Thanksgiving cards right??!!??)

The orders are coming in fast and furious for our United Way Christmas campaign at work...over 100 cards so far! Here's a variation of a card I made at a recent Stamp a Pack with SU demo Jenn Tinline...this card has been very popular! It's a bit fiddly to mass produce with all the different parts, but I think the final product is pretty cute.

What's in it:

Cardstock - red, white, kraft & black (The Paper Company), silver (Recollections), silver & red glitter paper (SU)

Punches - owl, 1/2" circle, snowflake (SU)

Ink - real red (SU)

Sentiment stamp -Inkadinkado

Drunken Stampers #94 - Happy National Hamburger Day!!!

Did you know that July 28 is National Hamburger Day????
Neither did I!!! It's also National Milk Chocolate Day!

This week's Drunken Stampers Challenge is to make a card to celebrate either National Hamburger Day or National Milk Chocolate Day.

I chose to go with National Hamburger Day....and mine is veggie :)
I topped my hamburger with tomato, cheese, lettuce and onion....and of course a hamburger feels lonely without some fries, so I made some of those too.

To make the hamburger I used the some of my SU punches
- extra large oval punch for the burger patty & buns
- scallop punch for the lettuce
- 1 3/8 circle punch for the tomato
- 1 3/8 square punch for the cheese
- 1 3/8 & 1 1/4 circle punch for the onions

To make the french fries, I cut strips of 1/2 cardstock and ran it through the paper crimper

The tablecloth is a patterned paper napkin - it was a bit tricky to cut with the paper trimmer as the paper is so thin

Sneak Peek part 2

Heres the second card I did for our sneek peak class. The cones are made with the pennant parade stamp set and coordinating punch. The ice cream and cherry were made with the cupcake punch...added ruffled seam binding ribbon on the bottom.

Colours are early espresso, blushing bride and cherry cobbler.

Next week Jen and I are doing a Summer Mini Sneak Peek class featuring new products from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini.

Here is my first sample, this one uses one of the new triple punches (not sure on those yet) and the baker's twine...

I am still liking the look of the layered embossing - can ya tell????

Get Well Wendy

We have a stamper down!! I repeat...we have a stamper down!!!

Very best speedy recovery wishes to Wendy who had rurgery this week.

What a trooper, surgery yesterday, getting up and about today and checking in to let us know that she's ok.

January 1 - 1 swap on SC

The lovely butterfingers (the "other Donna") continues to host monthly 1 - 1 swaps for us over on Stampin Canada.

The theme for January is winter / snow / ice...here's the card I made for my swap partner...sweet treat cup shaker snowman - his belly is full of snow and snowflakes.

I love cards made mostly with punches...the possibilities are endless!

For someone who is bird-phobic I sure have been making a lot of bird cards recently...

More punchie cards...

I know I know, no posts for weeks, then three in a day - trying to get caught up here, bear with me :)

Went to another punchie class with my fab SU upline ML, here are the two cards we made:

Isn't this expecting card just adorable?? I love it!! I have a certain expecting friend that is getting one of these for sure!!

I had myself completely convinced I didn't need the new XL bird punch from Stampin' Up until we made this card, you can use the bird's wings to make flower petals!! Love it!

Punchie Penguin

OK - you know I love love love punchie cards - here's a punchie penguin using a variety of Stampin Up punches and the top note die cut. Isn't he cute??

I have instructions if you would like to make one yourself - lemme know :)

Punchies

Went to a punchie class with my SU upline this week, we made two cards using mostly punches.

You can see on the pug card, I still need a bit of work getting the hang of the border and corner punches on the same card hahahaha, I am so NOT coordinated.

The hot water bottle card, we thought if you took the ring off the plug at the top, it would make a great whiskey flask!

I saw this cute punchy pug template on Stampin' Canada (thanks Ter!!) and thought of my beloved Auntie Ruth...who has the cutest little sausage of a pug named Ike (I affectionately call him Ikeroooo).

Variations on Punch Cards

Tried something a bit different with a few of the punch cards from this week's class. I made them up for a few ladies at work who had been unable to attend the class.
