Ode to Leslie...

As you may know, on December 25 we lost a dear crafty friend in Leslie.

Today the design team at SHOPPING OUR STASH are honouring Leslie by sharing with you our favourite cards of hers.

Choosing one card was difficult for so many reasons...but going back through LESLIE'S BLOG and reading her very funny blog posts did indeed make me smile.

Please visit the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG and check out the cards that each member of the design team selected and the nice thoughts they share about Leslie and her creations.

Here's the card I selected and my little blurb:

Like everyone else, I had a really really really really hard time picking my favourite card of Leslie's. But I do admit I did enjoy going back through her blog to admire her awesome creations.
Initially I wanted to pick the "It's a Christmas Cod" card, because frig...that made me laugh.

I chose this one because I love the colours, the plaid background she made, the grumpy little groundhog(??) and I did indeed kind of think this is what Leslie would be telling us if she thought we were moping around being sad.

I love Leslie's blog posts as much as her cards. It's like you are right there with her in her craft room giggling with her at all the funny mistakes that we all make while crafting.
Ugh, sorry, I am back to sad...somewhere Leslie just rolled her eyes I am sure.

Shopping Our Stash #232 - My Precious

Happy Tuesday crafty peeps!

Thanks for coming by to check out the SHOPPING OUR STASH "My Precious" challenge.

Check out the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there show the rest of the crew some lovin' won't you??

This is week two of a two week challenge, so we'll be back at ya on Tuesday January 5th with a new challenge.

In the meantime we'd love to know what is that special crafting supply you have hung on to tighter than Gollum with his ring.

I "collect" a lot of craft supplies, some things are just too awesome to use, like the Vintedge collection by Rock-It Ruby.

True enough I got the collection at a yard sale for a whopping 3 bucks, but that just makes me think I will NEVER be able to find it again so I better save it!

For this card I cut into FOUR different pieces of the design paper and used one of the chipboard accent thingies...a bird wearing a crown sitting on a clock...I dunno...it just works.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Vintedge design paper and chipboard (Ruby Rock-It)
  • Frayed Burlap distress ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Mini ink blending tool (Tim Holtz)

SoSS #49 X is for Xmas (part II)

Edna and the sisterhood are enjoying their Christmas break. We'll be back at you on January 9th with a new challenge.

In the meantime, some of us just couldn't stop making Christmas cards, so here is part II of the X is for Xmas challenge.

I came across this Jingle All The Way card kit I got in December 2014 which wasn't even open  ***sigh***

I made a few snowman cards for Shopping Our Stash with the kit and decided to keep going and make a few more Christmas cards for the X is for Xmas challenge.

I found some awesome samples for the Jingle All The Way kit HERE and used the samples as the basis for my cards, so I take zero credit for their design :)

Shite I used to make these cards:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Jingle All The Way design paper "Icons" and "Journalling" (Echo Park)
  • Jingle All The Way sticker accents (Echo Park)

  • Want to play along with the sisterhood?? Of course you do! You have until 11:55 pm (EST) on Friday January 8th to upload your project to the SoSS BLOG.

Scraptures Wild Card Wednesday - December 16, 2015

Having a lot of fun playing with this month's kit, here is this week's Wild Card Wednesday card for Scraptures:

The SN@P cards are a tad big for a standard size card, so I cut it up into pieces and used the bulbs and sentiment separately with another piece of design paper. Cute huh?

Shite I used to make this card:

    • Dear Santa "Wonderland" design paper (Bo Bunny)
    • SN@P Christmas Cards
    • White cardstock (Fireworx - not in kit)

Shopping Our Stash #231 - Let it Snow

Happy Tuesday! Thanks for coming to visit to check out the new challenge from the SHOPPING OUR STASH crew.

This week's theme is Let it Snow we want to see snow, snowmen, something snow related on your project.

Here's the card I made for the challenge, talk about shopping your stash, this was a card kit I got in December 2014 and hadn't even cracked open...why not? I love the papers and the colours and the cute little stickers...sheesh.

I had so much fun making that card, I used the kit to make 2 more snowman themed cards.

The only things I used for the cards that weren't in the kit were the white cardstock for the card bases and the strip of polka dot washi tape on the third card. Everything else was in the unopened card kit ***sigh***

I can't take any credit for the design of these cards, I googled the Jingle All the Way kit by Echo Park and found this link with samples that I based my cards on. Check out the originals HERE

Shite I used to make these cards:
    • White cardstock (Fireworx)
    • Jingle All The Way design paper "Icons" and "Journalling" (Echo Park)

    • Polka dot washi tape (Recollections)

    Shopping Our Stash #230 - UFO's

Happy Tuesday! Thanks for coming by to check out the new SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge!

This week the SOS crew want to see your UFO's...that is your unfinished objects..what's sitting on your table or desk just begging to be finished??

For me that's easy...as you may know my son is a member of the 1626 West Niagara Army Cadet Corps.

As a fundraiser we decided to make and sell some Christmas cards. Well those suckers turned out to be pretty darn popular and to date we have 36 orders for packs of 8 cards...sooooooooo I have Christmas cards in various states of incompleteness ALL over the craft room.

This challenge was good motivation to work on a few of them, don't worry I am not going to show you all 288 cards.

I like this card so much I think I am going to make a bunch extra and use this one as my Christmas card this year. I love the tree design paper!

Shite I used to make these cards:

    • White cardstock (Fireworx)
    • Christmas tags (Recollections)
    • Sugar Plum paper pad (Recollections)
    • Bling (Dollarama)
Check out all the details on the challenge over at the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG and while you are there please show the rest of the crew some crafty lovin'.

As always we would love for you to play along with us!

Shopping Our Stash #229 - No Stamping - Week Two

Here we are already in the second week of the No Stamping challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH.

This week I have a two-fer card, it's my entry for the challenge and also my son's 13th birthday card.

The skull design paper has been in my stash so long I have NO idea where it came from, but I have two sheets of it because you know once I use some I still HAVE to have a full sheet (pffft).

I used puffy stickers for his name and the 13 and punched out a few extra skulls to pop them up on the card front.

Shite I used to make this card:

    • White cardstock (Fireworx)
    • Skull design paper
    • Puffy letter / number stickers
    • 3/4" circle punch (SU)
    • Dimensionals (SU)
We'd love for you to play along with the Shopping Our Stash crew!

Check out all the details for the challenge on the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG and while you are there please share some crafty lovin' with the rest of the crew.

See you next Tuesday for a new challenge!!
