Shopping Our Stash 190 - Out of the Jar

Happy Happy Tuesday!! This week the challenge theme at SHOPPING OUR STASH is "Out of the Jar."

For this challenge the SOS crew would like you to use anything that came out of a jar (flower soft, glitter, perfect pearls, embossing powder) or a jar image or make something using a Jar.

Here's the card I made for the challenge. I stamped the jar image twice, once on white cardstock and watercoloured it, then again on acetate to layer over top. As much as I dislike fussy cutting, I cut out the jar (twice) and the nasty little green bug.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Black ink (Stazon)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Frayed Burlap, Broken China and Mowed Lawn distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Healthy Vibes stamp set (Paper Smooches)
  • Jar stamp (Inkadinkado)
  • Acetate sheets (Staples)
  • Sharpie
  • Paper piercer and mat (SU)
  • Water brush (Tim Holtz)
  • Silver sequins (Joann's)
Visit the SOS BLOG for all the details on the challenge and be sure to show my teammies some crafty love while you are there!!

SoSS 28 - A is for Accident

Poor ole Edna is looking a little worse for wear this week, not sure what she's been up to but it looks like someone gave her a good whack with the beatin' stick...hence the theme for this week's SoSS challenge...A is for Accident. Edna would like you to show us your very best Get Well card.

Visit the SoSS BLOG for all the details on the challenge and be sure to visit my snarky sisters and show them some crafty lovin!

Here's what I came up with for this challenge...like I told my sisters, I made this card in about three minutes. I've been popping pepto pills like pez the last few days (sorry TMI) so this image spoke to me - good old Google image searches!!! You get some pretty interesting results when you Google "vintage medicine ads."

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Firefox)
  • Image (Google search)
  • Chevron washi tape
Until next time, may the snark be with you!!

Shopping Our Stash 189 - The Big Screen

Happy Tuesday February 17 to you!! The SHOPPING OUR STASH crew are coming back at ya today with a new challenge, our theme this week is The Big Screen. We'd like you to make a project inspired by a movie...and...be sure to tell us which one!!

One of my all time favourite movies is the Wizard of OZ...other than the flying monkeys...those still give me nightmares!!  My lovely SOS teammie CHRIS kindly gifted me some fantastic Wizard of Oz themed papers, they are perfect for this challenge!!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
  • Magic of Oz Collection design papers (Graphic 45 - thanks Chris!!)
  • Tea Dye distress ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Mini ink blending tool (Tim Holtz)
  • Filmstrip Ribbon (Tim Holtz)
  • Kraft doily (Recollections)
  • Wooden hearts (in my stash, pretty sure they were a gift)

I hope you admire the picture of my card, I near lost my life taking it LOL

We have a LOT of snow here in the Niagara Region right now..and in another show of my dumbassedness, I wanted to take the picture out in my backyard...well I couldn't get to my usual picture taking spot so I thought I would set it up on the railing of the stairs...yep, I only lost the card and floral frog into the snow once and had to dig for the friggen frog...that sucker is heavy and sunk!!

Then being cranky and not paying close enough attention to what I was doing, I let go of the railing and slipped down the stairs landing on my buttocks in a heap at the bottom...card making is a risky business I tell ya!!

Here's a few shots of the front of my house in all it's snowy glory:

Be sure to visit the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there show my teammies some crafty lovin won't you??

Until next time...stay warm!!

SoSS 27 - G is for Grey

Fifty Shades of Grey...did you read the books?? Did you see the movie??? I read some of the first book...meh...wasn't all that intriguing to me...as for the movie, I was all over it when I thought Mr. Charlie Hunnam was in it....hello....he can eat crackers in my bed any old time!!! And you wonder why I like watching Sons of Anarchy???

Now that we've got the eye candy out of the way...back to the challenge...this time around Edna would like you to use either the book or movie Fifty Shades of Grey as your inspiration...or...use the colour grey.

Visit the SoSS BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there, be sure to show my sisters some crafty lovin'.

Our special Guest Designer for this challenge is my pal AMY be sure to visit her blog as well...her card is super awesome!!!

Here's what I made for the challenge (kind of an anti-Fifty Shades of Grey card???) with some more eye candy:

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Design paper (gift from my crafty pal CHRIS)
  • Image of LL Cool J (google search)
  • Sentiment (computer generated)
  • Black and white twine (The Twinery)
I felt bad taking LL Cool J out in the backyard in the snow to take a picture with no shirt on and in his underwear...

Wanna get your naughty on and play along with the Snarky Sisters? You have until 11:55 pm (EST) on Friday February 20th to upload your project on the SoSS BLOG
