Shopping Our Stash 186 - Love Me Do

Happy Tuesday Friends!! Are you ready for another challenge from the SHOPPING OUR STASH crew???

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so this week's theme is LOVE ME DO. We'd like to see you make a love themed project this week.

Sing along with me now...you know you want to!! Love love me do. You know I love you. I'll always be true. So pleeeeeeeeaaaaasssssse...love me do.

Check out the SHOPPING OUT STASH BLOG for all the details on this challenge and while you are there, show the crew some crafty lovin'...it is almost Valentine's Day after all!!

Here's what I came up with for the challenge:

Here's another shot of the card with the yellow dog photobomber in the background. Good ole Gordo, there's nothing he loves more than following me around the garden when I am trying to take dog-free pictures...heaven forbid you point the camera at him though...he thinks you're stealing his soul!!

You may notice a slight bend on one side of the card, on the way out to the yard Gordo took a slip backwards down the stairs...I am getting pretty good at catching a 125 lb dog on the stairs to prevent injury (his and mine). Poor old fella, he doesn't see so well or hear so well or climb stairs so well, but he does so love being outside when it's FREEZING out!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • Vanilla cardstock (Recollections)
  • Be Loved 6x6 paper pad (Fancy Pants)
  • Be Loved patterned photo frames (Fancy Pants)
  • Be Loved die cuts (Fancy Pants)
  • Falling for You stamp set (Paper Smooches)
  • Falling for You die set (Paper Smooches)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)

SoSS 26 - Snarker's Choice

Happy Birthday to you (and us), Happy Birthday to you (and us), Happy Birthday dear Edna (and my snarky sisters), Happy Birthday to you (and us)!!!

Can you believe it's been a year already since the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers was born??? We had our very first challenge, "A is for Anti Valentine" on February 8, 2014...it's been a year of fun, laughs and LOTS of snark!

We've had some awesome Guest Designers, Queens and Princesses of Snark join us along the way (thank you ALL!!!).

We were all so very sad when Drunken Stampers was coming to an end and the sisters decided we just couldn't bear to let our friendships fade away into the crafty sunset...so SoSS was born and I couldn't be happier that I've had the privilege of continuing to work with my amazing sisters

and

Visit the SoSS BLOG for all the details on the "SNARKER'S CHOICE" challenge and be sure to share some crafty lovin' with my sisters won't you??

Here's what I made for the challenge, using the "V is for Vintage" challenge as my inspiration:

I recently bought some awesome vintage / retro (and snarky to boot!) stamps from Riley & Company and had so much fun making this card...I made a bunch more to go with it!!

Would you believe I only used one 12x12 piece of design paper to make all of these cards...plus one more because I had a piece left over.

Shite I used to make these cards:
  • White cardstock (Firefox)
  • "Family Floral" design paper (We are Family by Lori Whitlock, Echo Park Paper Co.)
  • Stamps and sentiments (Riley and Company)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
Want to play along with us at SoSS?? Of course you do!!

You have until 11:55 pm (EDT) on Friday February 6 to upload your project to the SoSS BLOG

Maybe you will be our next Queen or Princess of Snark!!

Our wonderful Sister Lee has made the challenge even easier for you...she has set up a page on her blog with a list of ALL of the 2014 SoSS challenges. Click HERE to check them out!

Shopping Our Stash 185 - Not Your Normal Paper

Happy Happy Tuesday!! Who's ready for a new challenge??

You're in luck, the SHOPPING OUR STASH crew are here with Not Your Normal Paper.

This week we want to to use a specialty paper you had to have...glitter paper, foil paper, honeycomb paper, corrugated paper, canvas, cork, etc.

Visit the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG for all the details on the challenge and to show my teammates some crafty lovin'.

I know I have LOADS of "had to have it" paper in my stash that I have never used...like this red metallic paper..."ohhhhhhhh that'll be great for Valentine's cards" I thought to myself...ya, it probably would be if it wasn't cardboard on the back and almost NO adhesive sticks to it LOL...don't worry I used three different adhesives on my card, there's no way that stuff is movin'!!

So here's what I made for the challenge with my "had to have it" red metallic cardboard backed paper (that's what I get for buying paper at the dollar store right???).

I'm pretty sure if you look closely enough, you can see my reflection in the metallic paper LOL

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Red metallic cardstock (Dollarama)
  • Swiss Dots embossing folder (ProvoCraft / Cuttlebug)
  • Heart punch (SU)
  • Scripty Hello die (Lawn Fawn)
  • Glossy Accents (to adhere the Hello)
OK, confession time...this is NOT the original card I made for this challenge. First I made this one:

And hated it....so I made the Hello card above. I figure if the DH says..."hmmmmm ya, that's OK" as opposed to his usual "wow...that's awesome" the card is not very good.

But for the sake of honest crafting (LOL) I thought I would share it anyway. I am not totally hating it anymore...but I still like the other one better.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Red metallic cardstock (Dollarama)
  • Heart punches (SU)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Word Up stamp set (Paper Smooches)
Lastly, here's a quick peek at my ever present picture taking companion, Gordon. This fella LOVES winter...seriously, if I wasn't afraid his belly would freeze to the patio he'd love to lay out there ALL day long!!

Scraptures WCW - January 14, 2015
