Shopping Our Stash #144 - Oldest Tree Stamp

Happy Happy Tuesday! Hope spring has sprung where you are...here in Southern Ontario we are still waiting patiently. Tuesday means it's time for another SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge. This week we want you to break out your oldest treet stamp. Be sure to visit the blog for all the details on the challenge and to show my SOS teammies some crafty love.

For me the stamp choice for this challenge was an easy one, "Lovely as a Tree" was one of the very first stamp sets I ever bought...and I still use it quite a bit.

Both my dad and brother have birthdays in April and I always struggle with masculine cards, so I thought I would use that as motivation for this challenge and try to make a "manly" birthday card. I think this one will be for my dad (the old pot & pan)...brother will probably get something snarky :D

I used a square punch to make a mask for the rectangle shape (does that make sense???) the interesting pattern in the rectangle comes from not being able to locate any of my stamping sponges and using a kitchen sponge instead...I kinda like it! I used the SU chalk marker on the tips of the branches (not sure if you can see it in the picture).

SUPPLIES:
Whisper White, Basic Black & Smoky Slate cardstock (SU)
Lovely as a Tree stamp set (SU)
Smoky Slate ink (SU)
Black Stazon ink
Chalk marker (SU)
Square punch
Kitchen sponge

SoSS Challenge #4 - F is for Fancy Fold

And I bet you were thinking that F would be fore something else weren't you?? Naughty, naughty!! This week F is for Fancy Fold. The Snarky Sisters want you to break out some fancy folding techniques.

Be sure to visit the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS BLOG for all the details on this challenge and to see what the sisters have created. be sure to visit their blogs and show them some crafty love, we do so love your comments!!

My card this week isn't particularly snarky, but it sure was fun to make. I used BEATE'S SIDE STEP CARD TUTORIAL which I always have up on my computer screen when I am making one of these cards.

I tend to go pretty plain and simple on most of my cards, this time I wanted it to be a bit more over the top. I had a certain young fella in mind (my 11 year old son) when I made this card and he is busy busy busy, so I wanted to use lots of different elements. The silver clips and bling are a bit of an inside joke, I bug him about being easily distracted by shiny things.

Most of the supplies used on the card came from this month's SCRAPTURES card kit.

SUPPLIES:
Design paper - Carta Bella "Max"
Carta Bella "Max" Candid Cards
Kraft, Marmalade and Asparagus cardstock
Silver bling strip - Michaels
Shaped clips - SU

Shopping Our Stash #143 - Buttons & Bows

This week's theme on SHOPPING OUR STASH is "Buttons and Bows." I **think** that theme should be pretty much self explanatory right??? Be sure to visit the blog for all the details on this challenge and to show my SOS teammies some crafty love.

SUPPLIES:
Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
Everyday Enchantment design paper (SU)
White craft ink (SU)
My Friend stamp set (SU)
White baker's twine (The Twinery)
Pennant punch (SU)

Shopping Our Stash #142 - Sentiment(s) Only

This week's theme on SHOPPING OUR STASH is "Sentiment(s) Only." This week we want to see a card that features a sentiment. Be sure to visit the blog for all the details on this challenge and to show my SOS teammies some crafty love.

Here's my card for the project, I knew right away what stamp / sentiment(s) I wanted to use.

This is a pretty simple card to make, kraft base, white layer distressed and inked, layer of burlap (also distressed), sentiment layer (yep more distressing and inking) and VOILA!!! The most difficult part if getting the burlap to stick to the paper....double sided tape to the rescue.

SUPPLIES:
Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
Whisper White cardstock (SU)
Piece of burlap (from an old card kit)
Phrases 1 stamp set (Tim Holtz)
Frayed burlap ink (Tim Holtz)

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - Challenge #3 - P is for Paddy

That's right snarky sisters, St. Patrick's Day (and my 7th wedding anniversary) will soon be upon us. To celebrate (we like to start early) our third SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS challenge will honour all things Irish, green or St. Patrick's Day related.

As you read this post I will be somewhere in the southern US heading to Florida. We are taking a 5 day cruise from Ft Lauderdale on Monday and for some reason decided to drive from Southern Ontario to Florida...ROAD TRIP!!!!!

I'd also like to send out a great big green shout out to my snarky sister CHRIS for managing all the SoSS stuff while I get my toes in the water and ass in the sand.

Yeah, so...St. Patrick's Day is also our wedding anniversary, every year I make my hubby some kind of weird combination anniversary and St. Patrick's Day card...and as you may recall from our Anti Valentine challenge...I am not the world's most lovey dovey romantic kinda chick...so here's this year's card:

Remember those 6800 sequins I bought not so long ago??? I used a few more on this card...yay me!!! I think I had the most fun making the pot with punches (1 3/8" circle punch &large oval punch) and sticking on all the sequins. Although long nails, glue dots and sequins popping like freakin' tiddly winks gets a wee bit frustrating!!

SUPPLIES:
Gumball Green & Whisper White cardstock (SU)
Pinch Proof stamp set (SU)
Tuxedo Black ink (Momento)
Gold marker (SU)
Gumball Green and Blossom Blush markers (SU)
Shamrock punch (Michaels)
1 3/8" circle & large oval punch (SU)
Gold sequins (Joanns)
Computer generated sentiment
