Drunken Stampers Challenge #134 - Enchanted
Can you believe this is the last "official" challenge for this term? Thanks to all the members of the Midnight Margaritas and Bahama Mamas for making our design team so much fun this term!!
Be sure to visit the DRUNKEN STAMPERS BLOG for all the details on this challenge and to show the Bahama Mamas some crafty love!!
This week's challenge is based on the movie Enchanted and you can either use the movie or fairy tales as your inspiration. While I have never seen this movie, DH and I were in NYC while they were filming it and saw a few scenes set up around Times Square. So I went for more of a fairy tale theme for my project this time around and decided to make a mixed media canvas. This one is a stash canvas, everything on it has been in my stash for at least a year (other than the distress stain).
I started with a blank 6x8 canvas from the dollar store and coloured the base using picked raspberries distress stain (Tim Holtz). Next I added a piece of white mulberry paper, torn around the edges. I have a bunch of pink paper bags, I tore one up and used a piece of a page of a thesaurus in the middle of that. Next I added the pink ribbon on the edge, then the clock and key charms, bling and finally the wedding dress. I added butterfly wings behind the "happily ever after" and used another small piece of the mulberry paper through the top of it.
Don't forget to link up your project for this challenge on the DRUNKEN STAMPERS BLOG. You have until 11:59 pm PST on Friday July 5th....maybe YOU will be our next Life of the Party winner!!

Drunken Stampers Challenge #132 - Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Happy Happy Saturday!!! Time for another Drunken Stampers challenge!!!
I don't know if it's my British parents or my warped sense of humour...but I just LOVE Monty Python. When Kevinator and I first started dating we went to NYC to see Spamalot...it was freakin' fantastic!! The coconuts...the knights who say NI...the killer rabbit...muahhhhh ha ha ha ha
Be sure to check out the DRUNKEN STAMPERS BLOG for all the details on this week's challenge and to check out the awesome creations from the Bahama Mamas.
Like all the challenges this term, you have options for inspiration, this time around you can either use The Holy Grail or rabbits. I chose a bit of both.
For the bottom layer I used a piece of sanded cherry cobbler core-dinations cardstock (SU). I used the Union Jack stamp from Tim Holtz "London Sights" stamp set and coloured it with cherry cobbler (SU) and faded jeans (Tim Holtz) markers.
The challice is made from the extra large and small oval punches (SU) using kraft core core-dinations cardstock (Tim Holtz).
I used the small oval punch (SU) for the bunny ears and hands and added the dripping blood with the cherry cobbler marker (SU).
Added some bling and voila...killer bunny hiding in the holy grail challice on an ATC :)
You have until 11:59 pm on Friday June 21 to upload your project for this challenge to the Drunken Stampers blog...who knows...maybe YOU will be our next Life of the Party!!
Congrats 2013 Grads!
A co-worker asked me to make a graduation card for her niece who is graduating from college. Here's what I came up with:
I made the diploma out of a little piece of rolled up paper and used black staz-on ink to colour the twine black and used a number die on the cuttlebug to cut out the numbers. Pretty quick and easy.
The cardstock is all SU (basic black, gumball green, daffodil delight & whisper white).
Congrats to all you 2013 grads!!

Retro Father's Day - Scraptures June 2013 Card Kit
I am loving this month's card kit from SCRAPTURES it totally reminds me of Mad Men, the 60's feel of the design papers and embellishments. I mean, come on, doesn't the guy on the first card totally remind you of Roger??? Even better, he kinda looks like my father in law...so guess who's getting this card for Father's Day :)
The card kit this month features Pretty Little Studios "Monsieur"
The next card is a mish mash from this month's card kit, the June 2012 card kit and some other stuff. I stamped and fussy cut the moustache and stuck it to a popsicle stick...WARNING...use caution when cutting a popsicle stick with big scissors...you could lose an eyeball!!

Popsicle stick
Black Staz-On ink

Return of the..............Galaxy Paper Tots
You thought I was going to say Jedi didn't you??? Well you're not far off. I think I have mentioned already how completely and absolutely in LOVE I am with the Galaxy Paper Tots from KIKI and COMPANY
I knew for Father's Day I was going to use the Darth Vader tot with my "I AM YOUR FATHER" stamp from the Masculine Grahpic T Die-namics and Stamp Set from MY FAVOURITE THINGS
The star design paper (Rock Star mat pack by DCWV) and spritzing is meant to give the feeling of being in space, and the big circle Darth Vader is on is supposed to remind you of the Death Star...yeah...I am THAT nerdy!!
The Galaxy Paper Tots come pre-coloured, but because my printer SUCKS I added some additional colour to Darth Vader's mask and eyes (weathered wood distress marker - Tim Holtz) and his light saber (R59 Cardinal copic marker). I also used that same copic marker and a black sharpie to colour the bling to match (they are gold originally).
I don't usually do much with the inside of the cards, but today I am taking a page from the book of my friend and fellow Drunken Stamper CHRIS You totally need to check out her blog to see not only her awesome cards, but the magic awesomeness she does with the insides of them!!
I used Cherry Cobbler ink (SU) for the sentiment and added a piece of matching design paper to finish it off.
I'm going to submit this card for the Clearly iStamp FATHER'S DAY CHALLENGE

Smeared Ink Skull Appreciation Day Blog Hop
Today SMEARED INK is hosting a Skull Appreciation Day Blog Hop...ya...I didn't have to think twice about participating in this one!! There are some seriously talented artists participating in the blog hop, so be sure to visit every blog and show them some crafty love.
If you arrived here from DONNA M'S BLOG, you're in the right spot! If not and you want to start from the beginning...please go to TERRA'S BLOG and start from there.
Anyone that knows me knows I have an affinity for all things skull, I have a collection of skulls on a shelf in my craft room, a girlie skull tattoo and lots of skull-licious awesomeness!
I made two different projects for the blog hop (mostly because I wasn't entirely sure one was going to work out so I wanted to have a back-up plan).
First up is an Ace of Spades / Sugar Skull card. If you have a mum like I do (who likes to go to casinos) you have LOTS of decks of cards...they are fantastic for craft projects! Some are a little harder to distress (like this one) because they are plastic coated...but if you work at it for a bit it comes along eventually.
For this card I started with basic black and old olive cardstock and retired design paper (all SU) that I can't remember the name of. I heat embossed the Sugar Skull (BOMBSHELL STAMPS) and coloured it in with forest moss and mustard seed distress markers (Tim Holtz). I also used black soot distress stain (Tim Holtz) to ink up the edges of the playing card.
Here's a closer look at the skull:
The next project I made was the one I wasn't sure was going to work...but overall I am pretty happy with how it came out. If you want to try to make one, here's a link to the template & instructions:
MARTHA STEWART COFFIN TREAT BOX
When I started making this I was thinking it would be fun to fill it with Hershey's Kisses...but then I had an even better idea, I could make it an eternal sleeping place for my little friend Nosferatu who was made for me by my friend Jen.
Turns out it wasn't as hard to make as I thought it was going to be once I figured out which lines to score and which lines to cut (ha ha).
I used a thinner black cardstock (the paper company) and the same design paper (SU) that I used on the card above (yes I like things to be all matchy matchy). I used small and large tag punches (SU) to make the gravestones on the top and side and added a few bats (another SU punch), after all Nosferatu is a vampire!!
I did the gravestone text on my computer, inked the gravestones and bats with black soot distress stain (Tim Holtz), wrapped some green and black ribbon around the coffin and VOILA
Thanks for stopping by to check out my projects for the Skull Appreciation Day Blog Hop, your next stop is JANE'S BLOG

Drunken Stampers Challenge #130 - Breakfast at Tiffany's
Happy Happy Saturday!!! This week the Bahama Mamas are bringing you a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" inspired challenge. For this week's challenge you can either use the movie or BLING as your inspiration. Be sure to visit the DRUNKEN STAMPERS BLOG for all the details on the challenge, to link up your project and to check out all the sparkly crafty love the Bahama Mamas have created this week.
So, this is a movie I have never seen...although I like the song by Deep Blue Something...but that's not very helpful for the challenge...so I decided to go the BLING route.
I have been "trying" to get outside of my crafty box and try new things...I am a big fan of eclectic / vintage looking projects...if you aren't sure what I mean by that, check out the blog of my fellow Drunken Stamper VICKI. A lot of the awesome projects she makes are what I was attempting to achieve with my card this week. Here's what I came up with...
I started with a kraft card base and then just kind of went to town from there. The design papers, image and wings were a gift from a swap-bot swap. I fussy cut the image and wings. Not sure if you can tell from the picture, but the lady is popped up on dimensionals so she's raised off the card a bit.
The pinkish mesh pieces were leftovers from another project I made. The flower is made from book pages, 8 scallops punched out, spritzed with water, wrinkled, dried and inked up on the edges, I fastened them together with a brad in the centre.
I thought the "embrace your imperfection" sentiment was perfect for this card....those are Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers layered on torn pieces of the pink polka dot design paper.
My BLING comes from the glitter spritz that I used to glitter up every part of the card, including the card base.
Hope you'll play along with us for this week's challenge. You have until 11:59 pm PST on Friday June 7th to upload your card to the Drunken Stampers blog. And don't forget to visit the Bahama Mama blogs to show them some crafty love!!
