Christmas Countdown

One month today is Christmas Eve!
Time to get all those Christmas cards in the mail!
I have family overseas in England, Scotland and Australia...so better send those off first!
Here are the first two of the five cards we made in my Christmas Card Clinic last night...will post the other three later on.

This one is supposed to look like a wreath on a door.

Here's the second card ~ please note the lovely bow made with the bow maker I bought at Stamparama :)

How Rude!!

Wenchie is hosting a "How Rude" card swap on Stampin Canada this month.

Here's my contribution

Fancy Folds part 3

Here's my first attempt at a tri fold card (I think that's what it's called).

Again, this is a card I have always wanted to make, but was intimidated to try it It's really easy! The most time consuming part was cutting all the DP for the different sections.

This is the third card we'll be making in the fancy folds class this week, none of the cards are embellished, wanted to focus more on
the techniques.

Here's the card from the front:

And from the top:

Fancy Folds Part 2

At Stamparama in October we made a holiday themed never ending card I thought it would be fun to make a birthday one in our class this week

I posted the vide
o of the never ending card here:

Here are some pics of the cards as it's folded

Fancy folds part 1

I call this starfold card "An Ode to Gail"...Gail makes the most amazing cards!
If you haven't seen her works of art, you should check out her blog here:

For the World Card Making Day blog hop in October, Gail made a spectacular starfold card...I wanted to make one ever since I saw it.
Here's Gail's starfold card:

Spectacular huh??? Ya, I know, you're gonna be disappointed now when you see mine! It took me near forever to figure out the template, I am seriously math impaired, particularly it seems when it comes to triangles!

Anyway here's my crappy first attempt at a starfold card a la Gail, now that I have the measurements figured out, the next one will be better (maybe).

Ohhhhhhh look what I got!!

I was at Michael's yesterday picking up some stuff I needed (yes needed) All the Halloween merchandise was 90% off...and look what I found!!

I am bummed there were only 2 left, but super excited they were only 49 cents each!!

Snowman Shaker ATC

If I haven't said so already...I love love love the new shaker frames from Stampin Up.

They are not so practical for mailing (thicker = extra postage) but they are sooooo cute!

I made this snowman shaker ATC for a quick ATC swap on Swap-Bot (this one is headed to Ottawa).

I love that the little microbeads look like snowballs in his tummy! The snowman is from the Button Buddies stamp set - too cute!

Dog ATC

You likely are aware that I live with two big yellow hairy beasties (hence the name of the blog).

Ruby and Gordon keep me warm at night, keep me company when I am sick and are a never ending source of laughter and funny stories...so when I saw there was a dog themed ATC swap on Swap-Bot I signed up (I know you are surprised).

At first I thought, Ohhhhhh I will make a yellow dog ATC, but that might not be the choice of my partner (this ATC is headed to Finland!) so I decided on something a little more generic.

I made a video!!!

I made a short little video of my never-ending card
I even fashioned a holder out of a baby wipe container to hold the blackberry while I filmed the card (as you can see in the video, even with two hands I had trouble with the card on the second go through).
If you are interested in checking out the never-ending card video (all 15 seconds of it), here's the link (I even added some music for ya):

Because I am a dummy & Ter is too nice to say so...

Over on SC, Ter is hosting a gold / silver Christmas card swap. With this swap, you send one extra card and she is going to mail them overseas to the troops.
So when you do this, you can't use glitter on the cards, it could get on their uniforms, reflect and perhaps give away their position - not good.
So I made my cards, sent them off to Ter (weeks ago) and only figured out TODAY that I used silver glitter on ALL of them....DUH
And of course, Ter is too nice to say that I am a dummy....lol...so this morning I made a variation of the card, used silver twine and NO GLITTER
I like this little 3-D tree, its easy to make, 4 punches of the pennant punch, stick em together and voila...Christmas tree.

Variation on a theme...

I liked the owl ATCs that I made this morning so much, I decided to use it as a template for the SC November 1-1 swap.

Here's the full sized card based on the owl ATC.

Really - I need help....

I think I have an ATC addiction...joined three more swap-bot ATC swaps this morning...

One of the last ones I joined was a stamped owl ATC swap...I love the owl punch and coordinating stamps, so I wanted to use that.

Paper pieced his chest to match...so cute...another ATC for the binder :)

WHAT?!!?? More ATCs???

Yep...more ATCs, I just can't stop myself from making them

OK so maybe I wouldn't have to make so many if I stopped joining ATC swaps...

I joined three separate Christmas ATC swaps, so made 14 of those this morning and one last Halloween ATC swap (made three of those).

Here's what I came up with - thanks for lookin'...

(sorry about the pics, home computer died so I have to take pics with the BlackBerry for the time being)
