Happy Birthday Ruby

What??!!?? You don't make cards for your dogs???

Yep - one of the yellow dogs is havin' a birthday!

Ruby Dooby Do (leader of the pack - or so she thinks) is turning 8 on August 16th.

Hard to believe she was only 7 months old when I adopted her from the Humane Society in Oshawa.

Happy Birthday Ruby!
Thanks Judy for the cute dog bone clips :)

Anything Goes...Card Four - Things I Heart

This is one of those stamp sets that I absolutely HAD to have, and then never used...until now.

Someone said they wanted to try the shaving cream technique again as a refresher, I think it makes a fun marbled background on this card.

I love the colour combination of purely pomegranate and pink pirouette

Anyway, just a fun little "anything goes" card...

Anything Goes...Card Three - Joseph's Coat

This is a CASE of a card we did at the Shoe Box swap last week. Thanks Amanda for showing us this fun technique.

For this card, I used two colours on the brayer at once (rich razzleberry and old olive) then stamped the image in versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Then a once more over with the brayer, this time with the pacific point ink to match the cardstock base. I wiped off the excess ink with a paper towel after brayering to remove the ink from the clear embossed image.

I love how the colour patterns come out doing this.

For those that are counting...

OK likely the only ones that are counting are Jen (Niblet), Adrianne, Judy and I...but in case you are wondering...

5 more sleeps til Great Big Sea!!! Woot Woot...

Not sure if you have checked it out yet, but the new CD is awesome!!

My fave songs so far are "safe upon the shore" (can't wait to hear that one live) and "have a cuppa tea"

I hear tell there may even be pictures from this year's excursion as one of us (not mentioning who) is planning on sneaking in a camera (she never lets me forget that I didn't let her sneak one in last year) so stay tuned!!! She may be kind enough to let me post some pics :)

Anything Goes...Card Two

Here's the second card for Tuesday's class, I so wish this Rockabilly DP hadn't retired, I love it, this sheet goes so well with the Tart and Tangy stamp set.

Other sheets in this set have skulls on them which you know I heart!!

I digress, here's the second card for Anything Goes...I call it Cherry Bomb

Anything Goes...Card 1

Tuesday we're doing an "Anything Goes" class - no specific theme, some any occassion cards.

Here's the first card:

This one uses the D is for Dog set from Stampin Up! - kinda hard to see in the scan, but I stamped the dog on the white paper, then stamped him again and cut him out to layer him on top of the first one to make a 3-D dog. There's also piercing at the bottom of the black paper, offset like to the left of the sentiment, but kinda hard to see on the black paper...

How many sleeps til Great Big Sea???

Hooray hooray!! It's almost that time of year again!!
Great Big Sea at the Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto!!
This is our third annual 'girls day out' to see the boys!
Can't wait, loving the new CD, can't wait to hear some new tracks and some old faves...
Woo Woo...ten more sleeps!!!
We'll rant and we'll roar like true Newfoundlanders...

Shoe Box Swap

Doing a shoe box swap tonight with my lovely SU upline ML...all the cards have to feature only current Stampin Up! products (inks, papers, stamps etc.)

So here's what I came up with - I love the Upsy Daisy set, I made a card like this for our chalks class...this one is done with ink pads and sponge daubers to give the flowers multi colours

Card base is melon mambo, smaller pieces are blushing bride and pear pizzaz (new in colours), the square under the flowers is rich razzleberry, yhe stamp was inked with melon mambo and rich razzleberry.

Buffalo Stamps & Stuff

Yesterday Jen, Judy, Carole, Kerry and I did a road trip to Buffalo Stamps & Stuff

In the morning we did an introduction to Copics class, and in the afternoon a 3-D Christmas Card class

Here are the 4 cards we made in the afternoon class, reminds me of the paper toling projects my mum used to make, fortunately these all come from pop out templates, ready to assemble, no tedious cutting :)
