Shopping Our Stash #390 - Fabulous February

Greetings & salutations crafty friends!!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the SHOPPING OUR STASH crew!

This week MIMI is our host and our theme is Fabulous February.

That means we want to see something inspired by February (amethyst, violet or iris) on your project.

February is my birth month, purple is my favourite colour and amethyst is my favourite gem, so I used those for my card.

For my image, I was inspired by a birthday card I received this year from my crafty friend Betty, the image was coloured on vellum and looked like stained glass, so I wanted to give that a go.

I heat embossed the image on one side of the vellum, then coloured on the back of the vellum with distress markers then layered it on a piece of green design paper to pop it off the purple design paper.

I made the sentiment with my label maker and cut some gems from the same pack of design paper.

I really love how the colours pop on the vellum!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Vellum (Recollections)
  • Label maker (p-touch)
  • Versa mark ink
  • Black embossing powder (Recollections)
  • Stay Magical design paper (Craft Smith)
  • Winged Things stamp (Tim Holtz)
  • Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Mermaid Lagoon distress markers (Tim Holtz)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
As always, we would love for you to join our crew and play along!

Greetings and salutations crafty friends!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the crew at SHOPPING OUR STASH

This week CHRIS is our host and our theme is "Make Your Mark"
That means you must use markers on your project.

Here's what I made for the challenge using possibly the oldest stamp set and design paper in my stash.

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
  • Sock Monkey stamp set (SU)
  • Alphabet stamp set (Studio G)
  • Black Soot ink (Tim Holtz)

SoSS #128 - K is for Kitties

Greetings snarky pals!!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from Edna and the sisterhood of snarky stampers!!

This week Sister Majo is our host and our theme challenge is K for Kitties

Well, anytime we have a cat related challenge, I only have one choice lol I only have one cat stamp...although it is a super cute one.

My go to stamp set for all things feline is Chubby Chums from Paper Smooches.

The problem with only having one cat stamp, is finding new ways to use it (thank you Google), I found some kitty inspiration in THIS CARD

I tried out a tip from the video, inking up the stamp with Versamark before the coloured ink, not really sure if it made much of a difference or not.

Here is my version:

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (SU)
  • Chubby Chums stamp set (Paper Smooches)
  • Black Soot, Twisted Citron, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers & Picked Raspberry distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Versamark
This card has already gone off in the mail to a special wee fella.
In early January we welcomed a new member of the family...and not only is he purrr-fect...his parents are super cat people!

Can you believe he is less than an hour old in this picture????
TOOOOOOOO much cuteness!!!

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along!
