SoSS #85 - B is for Beach

Greetings crafty pals!

Thanks for coming by today to check out the latest challenge from the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS.

Looks like Miss Edna is ready for some warmer weather and a trip to the seaside and she'd very much like you to join her and the sisterhood at the beach.

I don't have much beach / summer stuff in my crafty stash, but I did remember some chipboard pieces from an old card kit (thankfully).

I wanted my card to have a "sand in your shorts" kind of feel so I started by spritzing the card base and layer with my Soft Suede marker.

Then I used the stencil to create what I hope kind of looks like a sun??

I think I will send this card to my bestie who has a birthday in June. As teenieboppers we used to ride our bikes down to the other end of town to lay on the beach, listen to tunes and invariably suffer very bad sunburns...ahhhhh...good times!!

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
  • Rays stencil (Tim Holtz)
  • Carved Pumpkin & Squeezed Lemonade distress ink (Tim Holtz)
  • Mini ink blender tool (Tim Holtz)
  • Water spritzer (SU)
  • Soft Suede marker (SU)
  • Marker spritzer (SU)
  • Summer Vibes chipboard stickers (Simple Stories)
As always, we would love for you to play along with us!

Greetings friends!!

Edna and the sisterhood are back atchya this week with a fun new challenge! Whether ya be hatchin' matchin' or dispatchin' we want you to join the sisterhood and play along.

Now if you aren't the kinda crazy Canadian that appreciates a good Newfoundlander humour (like me), you may never have known that the CBC carried a show called Hatching Matching & Dispatching for an all too short period of time...seriously...it was the funniest thing!

Anyways, back to the challenge, we have some matchin' comin' up in the family in just a few weeks time now when me sweet wee cousin Josh (or Oshawa Joshua as I like to call him) will be marryin' his beloved Kaitlyn.

Here's the super cute and super CAS wedding card I made them.

Friends...now I'd like to ask fer yer help...if anyone ya knows the name of that stamp set I used, the bride and groom, can ya please let me know?

Shopping Our Stash #302 - Buttons

Greetings friends! Thanks for stopping by today to check out the newest challenge from the SHOPPING OUR STASH crew!

This week we are all about the buttons!!

We all have one or two buttons (or 5 mason jars full) in our stash right??

I was very blessed to receive a random act of kindness package from my SOS teammie Mimi

The package included some very cool papers and a pack of old library cards!!

I love that the library card that I used on this card dates back to 1982!

I would have been 11 years old in elementary school land probably signing out books just like this! Super awesome!

And in case you thought I was kidding about the 5 mason jars full of buttons thing, I was lame enough to take them out to the garden for a photo op!

And you know, with that many buttons, I could still only use ONE on my card lol

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Design paper, library card & colourful thread ribbon (gift from Mimi)
  • Sentiment sticker (Tim Holtz)
  • Needle, thread, stapler and button (from my stash)
As always, we would love for you to play along. You can find all the details on the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG

Shopping Our Stash #301 - Back to Basics

Cheers friends!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest challenge from the SHOPPING OUR STASH crew!

This week we are going BACK TO BASICS

That means no dies on your project.

We want you to use to go old school and use an actual pair of scissors to cut something!!

If you know me at all, you will know that I am NOT a very good fussy cutter...shaky hands make fussy cutting a bit of a cranky time for me...so I kept it to a minimum on my card...just fussy cutting the image and the sentiment pieces.

I did have fun inking up a stamping block to make the colourful background and then I added some faux stitching to finish it off.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • white cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Wondering Midge stamp (Riley & Co)
  • Sarcastic Superpower stamp set (Rubber Dance)
  • Stamping block (SU)
  • Peacock Feathers, Festive Berries, Wilted Violet & Twisted Citron distress inks (Tim Holtz)
  • Tuxedo Black ink (Memento)
  • Paper piercer & mat (SU)
  • Fine tip sharpie
As always, we would love for you to take up the challenge and play along with us.

You can find all the details for the challenge on the SHOPPING OUR STASH BLOG.
