Faded #memories

I love when a crafty mishap turns into something kinda cool.

I was using the "three men in tophats" stamp on another project...when I was done I realized that I didn't have any baby wipes to clean the stamp.

Hmmmmmm I thought to myself...being too lazy to walk across the hall to the bathroom to wash the stamp, I just spritzed it with water and stamped it off on a scrap piece of white paper.

Hmmmmm I thought to myself again, I kinda like how that looks...I'm going to leave it until it dries to see if I am going to use it or recycle it...you guessed it, I used it!

I love how all the detail in the stamp fades as you move to the left of the image...like an old photograph that was damaged by water. I wanted to keep it pretty CAS but I added the staples to break up the white on white on white.

SUPPLIES
White cardstock (Recollections)
Black Soot distress ink (Tim Holtz)
Steampunk stamp set (Tim Holtz)
#hashtags stamp set (Tim Holtz)
Stapler and staples

SOS #156 - Oldest Die or Punch

This week's SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge is "Oldest Die or Punch." So let's see what you've put away and forgotten about...I know I don't use a lot of the first dies and punches that I bought, so in a box they sit.

I had to dig deep for this border punch I bought from Stampin' Up when I first started stamping and card making...I thought it was the coolest thing...but now...I hardly ever use it.

I wanted to try a bit of a paper tole effect on the card, so the little image that's almost in the centre, I cut and layered four times. Here's a shot from the top to show the layers better.

SUPPLIES:
Kraft cardstock  (Recollections)
Mr. Wilson & Mr. Jones design paper (Pretty Little Studio, Monsieur Collection)
Border punch (SU)
Alphabet punch (Martha Stewart)
Dimensionals (SU)

SoSS Challenge #10 - G is for Glitter

How much do you LOVE our challenge graphic for this week?? Has Edna got her glitter on or WHAT??? Thank you to Sister Lee for making her extra glittery this week! We call her our blog goddess for a reason dontchya know!

Glitter - yeah - I am not a fan - it gets everywhere...you know what they say - glitter is the herpes of the craft world! OK let's be honest...I effin' HATE glitter.

Having said that, I am kinda pleased with how my card came out...I used heat and stick powder to make sure that glitter stayed where it was put! I also thought that glitter begged for a certain degree of snark, so I pulled out the sentiment stamp you see below.

I didn't think the glitter on the sentiment was QUITE enough so I used my versamarker to draw (crooked) lines on the card, more heat and stick powder (I REALLY don't like glitter moving from where I put it) and then glittered it up.

I didn't even use any adhesive tape on this card, everything is attached with foam squares (the sentiment), glue dots (the pink and blue bling) or staples.

SUPPLIES:
Whisper White cardstock (SU)
Chevron design paper (from a paper stack in my stash)
Versamark ink and versamarker
Heat and stick powder
Blue glitter
Stapler and staples

Want to get in on the fun??? Sure you do!!! Visit the SoSS BLOG for all the details of the G is for Glitter challenge. While you are there, visit the sisters' blogs and show them some snarky / crafty love!

SOS #155 - Something Soft

This week's challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH is to use something soft...flock, felt, flower soft, satin, fabric, puffy tail on a bunny, etc.

I had so much fun making the ATC for last week's challenge, I decided to make another ATC for this week's challenge...and if I do say so myself I am pretty happy with how it came out.

My "something soft" on this ATC are the bunny's tail (made from a piece of a cotton ball), the sweater trim ribbon (it is really soft) and the corduroy buttons. I also **tried** to make the bunny look soft by spritzing him with water and crinking him up...but I am not sure if he looks soft or just wrinkled LOL

SUPPLIES:
Design paper (Pretty Little Studio, Monsieur Collection)
Chit Chat & Seasonal stickers (Tim Holtz)
White sweater trim ribbon (SU)
Corduroy buttons (SU)
Bunny die (Impression Obsession)
Early Espresso cardstock (SU)
Cotton ball

SOS #154 - Critters

It's Tuesday!!! Time for another SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge!! This week we want you to use critters on your project! That's right - CRITTERS...be it an animal...a pet...whatever critter you prefer.

For this challenge I went with an ATC...one because I really love making them, two because it's been a really long time since I made one and three because I had to make an animal / pet themed ATC for a swap. I do so love it when the stars align and one fun project turns into a two-fer!!

So here's my ATC, I have titled it "Happy as a..."

I love that the little piggy is smiling AND wearing a crown!!
I see now that when I took the picture I kind of pooched the bling in the bottom corner with the floral frog...so don't look there...LOL

I finally used the end of one of my silver bling rolls on this ATC...good thing I have at least 5 more in my stash!!!

SUPPLIES:
Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
Crown design paper (been in my stash so long I have no idea where I got it or who made it)
Worn Lipstick and Frayed Burlap distress ink (Tim Holtz)
Green Acres stamp set (Paper Smooches)
Bling (Michaels)
Piggy image (The Graphics Fairy)
