Shopping Our Stash #153 - Background Check

Happy Tuesday!!! This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH the "Background Check" challenge is to use a background stamp, or make your own background.

Visit the blog for all the details on the challenge and while you're there visit the blogs of my SOS teammies to show them some crafty love!!

My card this week is a dual purpose card, I joined a spring themed swap on one of my crafty Facebook groups...and this is the card I made for Gigi, my swap partner...hope she likes it!

I had a LOT of fun making this card...I am kinda bummed that the background didn't come out better in the picture, but I will walk you through what I did...I started with a piece of text design paper (SU), tore the edges and inked them up with picked raspberry and dusty conord distress stains. I used the same stains on a Tim Holtz clock stencil (which you can't really see), applied a big blog of stickles in the centre and smeared it over the paper with my fingers.

I did the same with the 8 layer flower to give it some dimension and ooomph.

SUPPLIES
Kraft cardstock (recollections)
Vintage image printed on photo paper (The Graphic Fairy)
Design paper (SU)
Chit Chat and Seasonal stickers (Tim Holtz)
Picked Raspberry & Dusty Concord distress stains (Tim Holtz)
Clock stencil (Tim Holtz)
Silver stickles
Flower punch (SU)
Silver brad
Bling strip (Michaels)

I think you've been taking lessons from our own Lauren. I adore that background and the cut-up words.
