Scraptures Wild Card Wednesday - November 27, 2013

Here we are!! The last Wednesday of November! That means it's time for another WILD CARD WEDNESDAY challenge at SCRAPTURES!! I'm on a roll with making cards this month with no stamps (even though the kit comes with a very cool stamp set) so here's the last card for the month featuring "Memorabilia" by Teresa Collins. Again this week the only thing I added were some sequins...I bought 6400 sequins!! I need to use them!!

I liked last week's card so much I used design paper as the card base again this week. For this week's challenge I'd like you to make a card using design paper as the base AND no stamping!

Memorabilia borders (Teresa Collins)
Memorabilia die cut accessories (Teresa Collins)

Happy Wednesday!!! Time for another Wild Card Wednesday challenge over at SCRAPTURES!!

There are so many cool papers and accessories in this month's card kit! I tried a few cards using the design paper as a base instead of cardstock. The only thing I added to the card that wasn't in the kit...some sequins...and another card with no stamping! The sentiment is cut out from a piece of the design paper.

Clear It Out Challenge Blog - Snowflake Challenge

This week's challenge on the CLEAR IT OUT CHALLENGE BLOG is snowflakes...hmmmmmm I think I *might* have seen a few of those already!

I have a package of felt snowflakes from SU that have been in my stash for several years...perfect chance to use them right?? OK one of them at least LOL

I have also had this DP in my stash for so long I don't even remember if it's SU or CTMH...but it's super cute, look at those little pink, blue and green squirrels all decked out for the holidays!!

I wanted to bling up the snowflake a little bit so I added some sequins. Gotta love sequins right???

SUPPLIES:
Blue & pink cardstock (Recollections)
Design Paper (SU or CTMH???)
Felt snowflake (SU)
Sequins (Joanns)

Happy Birthday Joel!!

Yesterday was Joel's 11th birthday. On Sunday we had a big party at Dave & Buster's in Toronto, yesterday a quiet family dinner at home. This boy loves him some Lego, so I wanted to make him a Lego card. Here's what I came up with:

The Lego blocks are .75" wide, the biggest bricks are 1.25", the yellow are .75 and the smallest .5  I used a paper punch and pop dots to make the blocks look more 3-D. When Joel opened the card he said "Hey cool, Lego!" so at least he knew what it was supposed to be ha ha ha.

SUPPLIES:
White cardstock (gift from my friend Georgina)
Red cardstock (Recollections)
Midnight Muse, Gumball Green & Daffodil Delight cardstock (SU)
Bitty Birthday stamp (SU)
Gumball Green ink (SU)
Circle embossing folder (Cuttlebug / Provo Craft)
Pop dots (Dollarama)

Scraptures Wild Card Wednesday - November 13, 2013

It's Wednesday!! That means it's time for another WILD CARD WEDNESDAY challenge at SCRAPTURES.

This week's card is a pretty direct CASE of a card by Tessa Wise. You can see Tessa's original card here:

http://teresacollinsdesignteam.blogspot.ca/2013/08/memorabilia-cards-by-tessa-wise.html

I loved ALL the elements of this card. I rarely layer design paper together, but I really like the look of it. I didn't have any sequins when I made this card (I have since bought 6400!!! LOL) so I used CTMH Bitty Sparkles coloured black with a sharpie for the little square embellishments. Look at me go....two weeks in a row and I haven't used a stamp on the WCW cards!!!

My challenge for you this week is to find a card online and copy it as closely as you can with what you have on hand.

SUPPLIES:
Kraft cardstock (Recollections)
Memorabilia borders (Teresa Collins)
Memorabilia design paper "Quatrefoil" & "Snippets" (Teresa Collins)
Memorabilia die cut accessories (Teresa Collins)
CTMH Bitty Sparkles
Black sharpie marker

Drunken Stampers Challenge #149 - Thing / Chipboard

Happy Saturday!!! It's time for another Drunken Stampers challenge!! This week's Person / Place / Thing challenge is a THING....and that thing is chipboard!! For this challenge use either chipboard or grungeboard on your project.

Visit the DRUNKEN STAMPERS BLOG  for all the details on this challenge and be sure to visit the blogs of my Yellow Canary teammates and show them some crafty love!!

I am not sure what I am more happy with on this challenge, the tag itself or the picture I took of it...look at me getting all creative using miscellaneous pieces of nature in my photo!!! Figure I should try and take pictures outside while it's still warm enough!

OK back to the tag...I really really really have fun making tags, adding mish mash of different things until I am happy with how it looks. I started with a kraft tag, inked up the embossing folder with crumb cake ink before running it through the cuttlebug. Then I went over it again with tea dye distress stain to add more colour in spots. On went the ruler washi tape, then the filmstrip ribbon over that. I used burlap paper for the banner and with the black ribbon on top. Then I added all the other little pieces, the gear and spinner, 13 sticker, bolt brads and SEQUINS!!!!! My Drunken Stamper pals will be so proud of me for using some sequins on my tag (I bought 6400 sequins this week!!!). I liked the pop of colour in the light bulb to brighten the neutrals on the rest of the tag.

SUPPLIES:
Kraft tag (Recollections)
Ruler washi tape (Scraptures card kit)
Filmstrip ribbon (Tim Holtz)
Burlap paper stack (DCWV)
Gears and cogs embossing folder (Darice)

Metal gear and spinner

Black ribbon (Scraptures card kit)

Want to get in on the fun?? Course you do!! You have until 11:59 PST on Friday November 15th to upload your project to the Drunken Stampers blog. You could be our next Life of the Party!!
