Faux braided ribbon AND a new stamp set...

Ter over on SC posted this link to a faux braided ribbon technique:
http://site.stamperdog.com/Gallery/Video/FauxBraidedRibbon.htm

And I found this card that I wanted to try out with one of the stamp sets from the new SU catalogue (Because I Care):
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1734302?&si=because%20i%20care

So I combined the two and came up with this:

You'll notice that my stamp doesn't have the stem and leaves on it like the original in the link above, I don't like the look of it, so I cut it off my stamp :)

And now for something completely different...

No not Monty Python film clips...silly gooses...a break from card making to show you this uber cool and amazing necklace that Amy made for me!

It is a near perfect match for the tattoo that I got last summer, I am completely amazed at her talent, what an awesome artist.

I can't wait to see my necklace tomorrow!! Thanks Amy!!

Oh Canada...

Ok so it's a little early, but I am starting to work on some Canada Day cards. Here's sample #1:

While you are feeling patriotic, check out "Oh Canada" by Classified (I love it).

"North of America, hard to ignore..."

Happy Father's Day!!!

Shout out to the best dad in the world...that's right, my dad, my "old pot and pan." This is my favourite all time picture of my dad.

And here's the card I made him for Father's Day today. Happy Father's Day Dad!!! Love you!! xoxoxox

chalks

This week with my stampin ladies we did some cards using the SU chalks / pastels
This is one of those products that I "had to have" bought it, and never use
It was great to break them out again and demonstrate how fun they are...now lets hope I don't put them away again to gather dust for another two years ha ha ha ha

Make a Wish:

Background is done with yellow & orange chalks

Upsy Daisy:

I would never have used orange, pink and green together on a card, but I am happy with this combination. The flowers are done in three different colours of chalk. This card came from Dawn's Stampin Thoughts, here's a link to the YouTube video:
