Wicked Wednesday ATC - 129 - Day of the Dead

I was super excited to be one of the winners of last week's Wicked Wednesday challenge 128 - Halloween...you know I was ALL over that like a fat kid on a smartie (or...just me on a smartie...or even better a peanut butter cup!!!)

Anyway...I won three digis from Dilly Beans and one of the digis I picked was this awesome Day of the Dead Frida image...and wouldn't ya know it, this week's challenge at Wicked Wednesday is Day of the Dead...how perfect!!

I had a lot of fun colouring a variety of different Frida's before I settled on this one. I love the pink, purple and green together (if I do say so myself)...and of course had to use some skull washi tape - can you see it under the purple bling???

Shite I used to make this ATC:
  • Chalkboard paint (Michaels)
  • Doily (from my stash)
  • Skull washi tape (Dollarama)
  • Purple bling (gift from my crafty friend Chris)
  • Green bling (Michaels)
  • Marker spritzer (SU)
  • Day of the Dead Frida (Dilly Bean Stamps)
  • Wisteria Wonder, Pink Passion, Basic Black & Old Olive markers (SU)
  • Stapler and staples
Obviously, I am entering this ATC into Wicked Wednesday 129 - Day of the Dead

Thanks for visiting, stay crafty my friends!

Back to School ATCs

Looking for my SoSS K is for Kraft post?? Please click HERE

Joel and I spent some time in the craft room this afternoon. I wanted to make some Back to School ATCs for a swap I am in and for the most recent WICKED WEDNESDAY ATC CHALLENGE

I have a super cute September Sock Monkey digi from BUGABOO STAMPS so we decided to use that for our ATCs. We also thought it would be fun to make the ATCs look like chalkboards. We started with black cardstock and rubbed chalk all over it, then used a dry paper towel to remove the excess chalk.

I used Tim Holtz distress markers to colour my ATC, added ruler washi tape to the side and used the Picket Fence distress marker to write "Back 2 School" in the corner.

While he is not AT ALL excited about going back to school, Joel liked the idea of making a Back to school ATC...he used SU markers to colour his ATC and got a little more creative with the washi tape than I did. He also thought the sock monkey would enjoy playing basketball on the school yard, so he drew a basketball for him to play with.

Not bad for his very first attempt at an ATC...and I am pretty sure his colouring skillz are better than mine!!! LOL

We'd like to enter our ATC's into Wicked Wednesday #120 - Back to School

Ohhhhhhh ATC's how I've missed you!!!

It's been a really long time since I've made any ATCs...that is just not acceptable LOL
Luckily this week WICKED WEDNESDAY ATC CHALLENGE BLOG has a theme of "Happy Holidays."

Yes, I realize Christmas is past, AND I missed the deadline for the challenge...but I have sooooooo much Christmas / holiday / winter related stuff in my stash and I sooooo wanted to make an ATC...that I ended up making four!!

Sadly the sun set as I was making the last three so I will have to get better pictures of them tomorrow when it's light out again.

Look at me getting all crafty on the first day of the year!!! One of my crafty resolutions for 2014 is to participate in more challenges. So far I think I am off to a good start.

Thanks for visiting my blog today, come back real soon :)

Wicked Wednesday Challenge 81 - Things with Wings

I recently purchased some stamp sets from a friend of mine who is a consultant for CTMH and when I saw the theme on the WICKED WEDNESDAY ATC CHALLENGE BLOG this week was "things with wings" I knew it was the prefect chance to try out one of the stamps I bought.

I started with a piece of kraft paper on the ATC back and inked it up with gathered twigs distress stain. I added a small piece of burlap, some gold / honey coloured mesh bling and coloured the image with Tim Holtz distress markers. I used the gathered twigs distress stain to colour around the edges of the image as well to give it more of a vintage-y look.

Celebrate the Season ATC

This week's challenge on the WICKED WEDNESDAY ATC CHALLENGE BLOG is "Celebrate the Season." I don't usually make a lot of winter themed cards or ATC's and I definitely don't use a lot of blues...for some reason just not a colour I use a lot...so this was the perfect challenge to get me out of my comfort zone a bit.
You'll be impressed...I didn't even distress the edges of the layers of the ATC!!!
All the supplies for this ATC (except the twine) came from the January 2013 SCRAPTURES CARD KIT (still trying to make an effort to use stuff in my stash).

Supplies:
Lilac twine (The Twinery), Frosted Teal & Sea Salt cardstock (Bazzill Basics), Glitter button (American Crafts), Winter Wishes stickers (Echo Park), dimensionals (SU)
