SoSS 36 - D is for Dudes

Edna and the sisters are celebrating dudes this week, Father's Day is approaching so we want to see your most manly dude projects!

Visit the SoSS BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there visit my sisters and our Guest Designer and show them some crafty lovin!!

Here's what I made for the challenge, I have clearly been watching too many episodes of Mad Men on Netflix...there's something very Don Draper about this card...

I would never ever ever ever stamp directly onto a card base for fear of mucking it up, so I stamped the dude (Walter) on a separate piece of cardstock, fussy cut him out and stuck him onto the card base.

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Mr. Clark design paper (Monsieur Collection - Pretty Little Studios)
  • Walter stamp (Riley and Company)
  • Brown ink (Staz-on)
I think dudes (and dads) like simple, straightforward cards (if they like cards at all). With that in mind, I made this super simple but colourful dude / dad card:

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White cardstock (Fireworx)
  • Mr. Williams design paper (Monsieur Collection - Pretty Little Studios)
  • Dad Rocks stamp set (Technique Tuesday)
  • Indigo Island, More Mustard, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze markers (SU)
What are you waiting for??? We'd love for you to play along with the D is for Dudes challenge!!

Join the sisterhood and upload your project to the SoSS BLOG by 11:55 pm (EDT) on Friday June 26.

Maybe you will be our next Queen or Princess of Snark!!

I thought for sure you stamped Walter directly to your card base. I love that card! And your bonus card absolutely ROCKS!

See, I might have risked stamping Walter onto the card base to avoid all that fussy-cutting! Nicely done. Definitely has that Mad Men vibe, cool and retro. And the bonus card is psychedelic excellence!

Perfect Dude card, now if you used a stamp-ma-jig or fisker's stamp press you also would have avoided fussy cutting, but then again I don't mind fussy cutting. Bonus card is fabulous too.
