SoSS 19 - Hopeful Halloween

Edna is up to her old tricks (and treats) this week!! Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Halloween is approaching, she wanted to give us some options for this week's SoSS challenge.

Either make a project to support Breast Cancer Awareness or make a Halloween project...but there's a catch...if you go with a Halloween project, it has to be predominantly PINK

Visit the SoSS BLOG for all the details on the challenge and while you are there show the sisters and our Guest Designer PAMELLIA some crafty love!!

So here's my predominantly PINK Halloween card:

Shite I used to make this card:

  • White and pink cardstock (Recollections)
  • Black Halloween design paper (SU retired)
  • Pink velvety design paper (in my stash for so long I have no idea where I got it)
  • Pixie Pink and Basic Black markers (SU)
  • Marker spritzer (SU)
  • Trick or Treat stamp set (Inkadinkado)
  • Versamark ink
  • Black embossing powder
  • Black sequins (Joanns)
  • Spider web embossing folder (Tim Holtz)
  • Cotton ball
I did make another card for the challenge as well...

WARNING...IMPENDING PROFANITY...DO NOT SCROLL PAST HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE IT!!! DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU!!

OK...you scrolled past the warning, so here it is:

Shite I used to make this card:
  • White & pink cardstock (Recollections)
  • Paper piercer and mat
  • Pixie Pink marker (SU)
  • Breast Cancer Awareness stickers (Michaels)
  • Thickers (American Crafts)
Want to play along with the Sisterhood?? You have until 11:55 pm (EDT) on Friday October 31 (Halloween!!!) to link up your project on the SoSS BLOG

Maybe YOU will be our next Queen or Princess of Snark!!

Hello Sister Donna! Wow, you did one of each, WHOOP WHOOP! Love your Halloween make, that image is so much fun and the smoky fog stuff is sufficiently creepy! Your awareness card is just wonderful! I love the 3d glittery letters and, you're right, Cancer is an *sswhole!

Your co-sister, Pamellia :)

Fabulous job on both cards, Love your pink Halloween and the cancer one has true words on it because that is what cancer is.

Fab cards for this challenge Donna! Yes, I was warned, but (tee hee) it made me want to scroll all the faster to see just what you'd been up to! I love the stitching and distressing on the cancer card and your fun use of embellishment on the Halloween card. A little story for you, my girlfriend (who also happens to be Donna) and I might have had a glass or two of wine last night, and we might have been doing a bit of on-line shopping (Unity) when we came across some other interesting and yet appropriate profanity...we were searching for cancer awareness/support type stamps because we are putting a team together for Relay for Life and plan to sell some cards to help with raising funds...anywhooo, we really got a kick out of the stamp that said
f**k cancer! That is exactly how the font was, lacking the u and the c, but wow, did it ever pack a punch. When you warned of profanity, I thought perhaps you had the same stamp...anyhow, I agree!
Cheers,
Shanna :)
p.s. We decided that wine + on-line shopping at midnight is a bit dangerous and that we should try not to do it too often. We usually try to help on another cut back on the long list, but found that the wine had the opposite effect, lol!

Great cards there Donna. Love the Halloween one and I agree with your sentiment on the second one!

I love that line of ghouls and goblins plus all the fab details on your first card. As for your second card... you speak the truth. Great cards, the both of them.

ROTFLMAO at what Shanna just typed! Lady after my own heart! LOL! Your cards are both fantabulous! Love the pink Halloween card with the trick-or-treaters (for some reason, they remind me of the ones on the Great Pumpkin cartoon!) Your second card pretty much says it all!

That's exactly what cancer is - and I too love the Unity 'fuck cancer' stamp. Love the distressing & faux stitching on that one :) The first is too fun with the cotton ball creepy stuff!

I loves both of these. But I think the trick or treaters win. However I have never seen the word "asshole" done in blue glittery letters before. Fantastic touch!
