Another SC swap

Donna (another Donna, not me) hosts monthly 1-1 swaps over on SC.

Every month she posts a theme, we are matched with a partner and make a card for that person.

I love seeing all the different ideas that the ladies come up with.

This month's theme is "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."

Something old - chocolate chip ink, had it forever

Something new - CTMH design paper and clear cards (thanks Brandy!!)

Something borrowed - the idea to punch both edges on the second layer was borrowed from gigi's July swap card

Something blue - bashful blue cardstock from SU

Over on SC...

Over on Stampin' Canada, Cat is hosting a Studio G swap.

Here's the card I made for the swap...

Can't wait to see what the other ladies come up with!

Almost time...

Almost time for Little Sprout's arrival!

Only a few more weeks to go!

Tomorrow is BFF's shower...can't wait...so excited!

Thought it might be nice to make her a set of thank you cards to match the invitations (same colour scheme) nothing fancy, just cute and simple.

I will buy stamps for all the cards and get guests to write their address on the envelopes during the shower tomorrow.

Altered Frame

I think vacation has messed with my brain...two nights of the past three I have been awake between 3:30 and 4:00 and haven't been able to get back to bed.
This morning I got up and went to work in my craft room.

I made a mini scrapbook from two coasters (very cool tutorial on SCS - email me for the link if you want it), two card holders (again a tutorial on SCS), 27 (yes 27) Christmas cards (not including the ones I made for the Christmas in July class that I already posted) and THIS...

I have had these little wooden picture frames from IKEA for years, I am sure I bought them with every intention of doing something with them, has been so long I don't even remember...in my lack of sleep creativity this morning I thought to myself, "you should make one of those into an altered frame for the baby invitation for BFF." So I did!! I have never done an altered frame before in my life, but I have to tell ya I am pretty happy with how it came out. I even added a piece of acetate to the front to protect the cardstock...WOW...maybe I am a morning person after all!!! NOT

ATC Swap

I just can't get enough of stamping and card making, I joined a new forum this past week called Love is in the Details.

I have been lucky enough to visit the store in Miami, Manitoba the past two summers and just couldn't resist joining the forum.

Here's a link if you wanna check it out:

So anyway, on the forum I joined an ATC swap (Artist Trading Card), these are the cutest things, they are only 3.5 x 2.5 inches big! The theme for this swap was butterflies.

Christmas in July!!! (part two)

Here are the other three cards we'll be making this week...thanks for lookin'!!

Christmas in July!!! (part one)

Yep - 5 months today is Christmas!! Have you started your shopping yet?? Not me, I am one of those last-minute-Christmas-Eve-buy-whatever-is-left-shoppers.

Christmas cards?? Oh yeah...THOSE I like doing in advance.

Here's a sneak peek at some of the cards we'll be making this week...the first two are 3x3 note cards or gift tags
