SoSS #75 - S is for Stencils

Greetings snarky pals and welcome to the very first SoSS challenge of the new year.

If you think that edna is looking a bit sketchy after her New Year's celebrations, have no fear, she is just getting into the spirit of the challenge

I have quite a few stencils...but I never really know what to do with them...as you can tell by what I made for the challenge.

Believe it or not, I used five different stencils on this coaster...kinda hard to see them once I keep layering over them...ah well.

What started off as a chipboard coaster, morphed into what you see above.

I didn't want it to look like I just made it, I love a distressed / worn look...so after I sanded the you know what out of it, the whole thing is soft as velvet!

Would you believe this had a red / green / blue stripe to it at one point???
You can kind of see green peeking through the bottom left corner if you look closely.

SHITE I USED TO MAKE THE COASTER:
  • Chipboard coaster
  • Texture paste (Ranger)
  • Sanding block (SU)
  • Brushed Pewter, Picket Fence, Tumbled Glas, Fired Brick and Peeled Paint distress stains (Tim Holtz)
  • Splotches, Burlap, Speckles, Bubbles and Tiles stencils (Tim Holtz)
  • Mini ink blending tool (Tim Holtz)
  • Water spritzer (SU)
  • Heat gun
  • White embossing powder
  • Versamark ink
  • Sentiment stamp (Tim Holtz)
  • After Midnight, Vibrant Turquiose ink sprays (Dylusions)
Yep ALL that went into that little coaster...crazy huh?

As always, we would love for you to join the sisterhood and play along.

You can check out all the details of the challenge on the SoSS BLOG.

While you are there please share some lovin' with my snarky sisters and our guest designer.

Until next time...stay snarky my friends!

Wow, Donna - great coaster! I must try making one of these myself some time. Fabby colours and images! Have a great weekend, babe, oh and thanks for the Christmas card too, which has finally made it! Jo x

Oooh, it's one of those things that the more you look at it, the more you see in it - after the initial visual hit, you start to look up close and realise there's so much amazing detail in it. Great job!

Fabulous job, I have lots of stencils too have no clue what to do with them, I looked at a lot of different sites and some looked too complicated. and the ones I tried were "Fail Army" ones.

This is so awesome in its stencilled, distressed, grunge fabulousness! Don't you dare let anyone put a sweaty glass on this masterpiece!
