Shopping Our Stash #150 - Inspiration Photo

This week's SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge is based on this inspiration photo from Pinterest.

Here's a link in case you want to check it out for yourself: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/47498971044269957

For my project, I decided to use the colours in the clock to make a vintage looking Mother's Day card.

The only thing I didn't have already in my stash for this card was the image which I found on THE GRAPHICS FAIRY. Some of the items on this project (like those flower buttons and ribon) are so old I don't even remember how many years ago I bought them!!

I started with a piece of design paper (SU) and covered the whole thing in washi tape, I wanted the colours underneath to show through but be very muted. Added the burlap and peachy sheer ribbon (both SU) and the buttons. The image I tore around the edges and brushed over with vintage photo distress ink (Tim Holtz). The sentiment stickers at the bottom are from the chit chat set (Tim Holtz).

So let's see what you can come up with based on the inspiration photo! Don't forget to upload your project on the SHOPPING OUR STASH blog an visit my teammies' blogs to show them some crafty love!!

Did you say washi tape? :) I love the way it mutes the paper, yet looks like it totally belongs there. And the sheer ribbon over burlap? Such texture!

Now I need to pull out my miles of burlap and maybe use it...

Now that is some serious stash shopping! When you can't remember where stuff even came from....score :) I love the effect of the washi (note to self!) and the Graphics Fairy saves my butt on a regular basis :)

Ooh, I like how the washi on patterned paper turned out! So cool how different your card is from the inspiration, yet still clearly comes from it. Awesome card!
