One more picture...

Can ya tell I am a little proud of my Alley??
I think this is just the most beautiful picture of her - yes I am not only a little - but a LOT biased!
I cannot wait to see her walk down the aisle on August 11, she is going to be such a beautiful bride...gotta find me some cry-proof mascara!!!

You gotta see this cake!!!

Check out this fantastic cake that Lisa made for last weekend's bridal shower for Alley!
The cake was not only gorgeous...but delicious!!
I had told Lisa that Alley's colours were black and clover green and that she liked dragonflies and she made this spectacular corset cake for the shower!!

Here comes the bride!!

I hosted a bridal shower for my cousin Alley this past weekend.
Here are a couple pictures from Satur
day.

Here are the girls, left to right me (bridesmaid), Katie (maid of honour), Alley (bride-to-be), Kerry (bridesmaid) & Blythe (bridesmaid)

And here is the lovely bride-to-be and her equally lovely maid of honour.
Less than two months to go til the wedding, the countdown is ON!!!

Father's Day take 2

This month's card kit from Scraptures has an Echo Papers mini theme pack called "Family Man." The pack has six 12 x 12 design papers and a sheet of sticker accents perfect for Father's Day.
On the scraptures forums, Chelle posted a great Father's Day card she made with the kit, this card (for my FIL) is a CASE of Chelle's card.

For the Old Pot and Pan

Tomorrow is Father's Day. We'll be heading out to Oshawa armed with steak and beer for a Father's Day BBQ.
Brother is bringing salmon for the BBQ, #1 phew is making a salad (he makes the best salads!!!)
I'm making Mars bar squares for dessert.
Here's the Father's Day card I made for the Old Pot and Pan, he's been following the Euro football (yes football NOT soccer) and supports England, so this was a quick and easy card to make, and I think (hope) he will like it!!

Drunken Stampers #91 - colour challenge

This week's Drunken Stampers Challenge was perfect for me, I am sooooo colour challenged!
I rarely mix up colours that are very adventurous, so I struggled with this one, pink, orange, green, purple on the same card?????

Here's a link to the Drunken Stampers blog so you can check out the challenge:
http://drunkenstampers.wordpress.com

I punched out 2 butterflies in each colour, spritzed and wrinkled them, set them aside to dry. Initially I was just going to lay them out on the kraft baground, but thought the coordinating stripes would better help highlight the different colours.

Be sure to check out the projects from the rest of the design team to see what they came up with (you can find links to their blogs on the left side of my blog here, or on the Drunken Stampers blog).

Thanks for lookin!!!

Another bridal shower!!!!

My cousin Danielle and I will be hosting another bridal shower in July for Alley.
This one is for our side of the family.
Danielle asked me to make the invitations...we wanted to use the same paper / theme she used for her invitations, so here's what I came up with.

Made 14 of these little beauts tonight - ready to be delivered to Danielle this weekend :)

Kind of hard to tell from this picture, but the colours are SU Gable Green and Black.

Thanks for lookin!!

Drunken Stampers #90 - What's Your Angle??

This week's Drunken Stampers Challenge is "What's Your Angle?" Your challenge is to use Triangles on your card. Here's a link to the Drunken Stampers blog for the challenge details:
http://drunkenstampers.wordpress.com/

For this challenge I decided to use a triangle tri-fold card. Easy peasy lemon squeezee!! Start with a piece of cardstock 12" x 4", score at 4" and 8" and then score the end sections diagonally to create your triangles. It is important when you are scoring to go in the same diagonal direction on both ends, or it won't fold in properly - ask me how I know that!!!

Here's the outside of the card
, I even cut the ribbon edges into little triangles. Something new I learned this week! Fold the edge of your ribbon in half and cut on an angle from the centre to the edges & VOILA!!!

And here's what the card looks like when it's unfolded:

Most of the supplies for this card came from the Scraptures September 2010 Scrapbook kit:
  • Days Away design paper from the On Holiday collection by The Girls Paperie
  • Bazzill Sea Water cardstock for the base
  • The Girls Paperie On Holiday Epoxy Charms

Other items I used included:

  • Creative Impressions, Twill Impressions ribbon
  • Pacific Point Ink (SU)
Be sure to check out the cards from the rest of the Drunken Stampers Design Team to see their takes on this fun challenge!
