Went to a punchie class with my SU upline this week, we made two cards using mostly punches.
You can see on the pug card, I still need a bit of work getting the hang of the border and corner punches on the same card hahahaha, I am so NOT coordinated.
The hot water bottle card, we thought if you took the ring off the plug at the top, it would make a great whiskey flask!

Why do I love Stampin Canada so much ??
Because of all the amazing friends (cyber and in person) that I have met over the past few years.
These ladies are such a wonderful support network, so thoughtful and so very talented...if you are ever looking for me online...that's where you'll find me.
Knowing my love for purple and skulls, Gail added this to her blog for me - awwwwww makes me smile!! Thanks Gail!! Loves ya!!
Good Luck Gord!!

Pink and Brown warm up card:
Non traditional colour Valentine:
Last challenge for the day:
What I like about this card, is we are sending it in the mail to another SC friend. During VCD, we make our cards and post them for the others to see, in this case, for the last card of the day, you send it through the mail to whoever posts after you...so this card is already on it's way to Ruth in Edmonton!!
More from SC VCD
Heres an accordian card that I made as part of Stampin Canada's Virtual Crop Day yesterday...The first picture is the inside, second picture is the outside.
I used the copic markers I bought in Winnipeg to colour the sock monkey...I now know that I need more copics, they are amazing to colour with...but I don't have enough colours.
I am quite certain this poor sock monkey thinks I am colour blind giving him a mouth that matches the frosting and florescent purple hands, feet and bum!! Poor sock monkey...good thing I have a birthday coming up...maybe I'll get more markers HINT HINTStampin Canada Valentine Virtual Crop Day

Hippo for Norma
I bought this uber cute hippo stamp at Stamping Bella on a recent mini road trip with some of my Stampin' Canada friends (holla!!) I knew it would be perfect for my friend Norma, who I work with...she is crazy for hippos (yes I cut those Telus hippo ads out of magazines for her).
I also love spinner cards...they are so fun, and a spinning hippo...I hope this makes her smile.
My Andie is getting married!!
Andie, one of my college roomies and BFF's got engaged over the holidays! YAY!!!

Fox & Friends
I was inspired by a card I saw on Anita Hovey's blog the other day. Here's the link: http://hoveyhut.blogspot.com
You'll need to scroll down a little til you see the card.
I love this new Fox & Friends set from SU and the CB folders and colour combinations that Anita used. I have two male co workers celebrating birthdays next week and thought this was a great 'masculine' birthday card...

Fan card...
I joined a Canadian Comments Blog Group on SCS.
The organizer of the group has her blog here:
She has this great fan card that I just had to try, so I gave it a whirl tonight.
I should have done it with my Scor-Pal the first time, but thinking the scoring blade on the paper trimmer would be faster, that's what I used, and of course the design paper tore when I was folding into the fan.
So I redid it, did the folds at 1/2 inch instead of 1/4 inch and used the Scor-Pal.
The colours didn't come out well in the picture (rich razzleberry, melon mambo and crushed curry believe it or not) but you get the idea. Check out the blog above, the picture of the original card is much better!!

Heat and Stick Card #2
Wanted to try this again to make sure I didn't just get lucky last time. Will be trying this tomorrow night with some stampin' friends...
Hmmmmmm the picture won't upload...will try again later...

Two hours later...ta da....it worked :) Looks pretty much like the other one...
Big Buckle Card
Part of my goal for 2010 is to try some different card templates...Split Coast Stampers has a great variety of templates and tutorials.
Here's my first attempt at a big buckle card:

And here's a link to the tutorial on SCS that I followed:
Happy Birthday Buttons
Yes, I admit, I am a button collector. I love buttons...but I hardly ever use them on cards, and if I do, I only ever use them one at a time, will take me a very long time to use all my buttons that way.
In my blog hopping recently, I was inspired by the use of buttons on this card, http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/?p=2653 as well as the stitching, something else I don't do often on cards...so I tried a bit of both and came up with this:

What do you think??

2010 - year of the monkey???
I am not sure if 2010 is the year of the monkey or not???
So far for me it is, all three cards I have made today have monkeys on them...and I didn't even notice until the THIRD card!!!
Yes, I do like monkeys...so to keep Mr. Sock Monkey company, here we have Little Monkey and Monkey Love :)

Happy New Year!!!
Happy 2010! The year is not 1/2 a day old yet, and I already made a card :)
My goal for this year is to make 1 card for each day of the year, thankfully it's not a leap year!!! Hahahaha...so let's keep track, here's card #1, 364 to go!
How better to start 2010 than with my favourite little stamp friend, Mr. Sock Monkey...you know you love him too :)
