More Big Bold Cupcakes

Wanted to try out my Sizzix Sidekick today so I whipped out a few more big bold cupcake cards.

I really like the banner I learned with my SU upline in her last class, so I used it here, you can see I am still working on the paper piercing too:
This one's for a co-workers birthday next week, Happy Birthday Antony :)

New Purchase Alert...

So my last post was the two birthday cards using the Big Bold Cupcakes set...what I found I was not loving about that is running it through the cuttlebug (no...I haven't bought a Big Shot yet...)

Then I remembered, on my recent cruise to the Caribbean (yes...I did 2 scarpbooking classes on the cruise)...they had this cute little portable Sizzix Sidekick made especially for the small sizzix die cuts and embossing folders...so guess what I found at Michael's today???

Here it is, isn't it the cutest little thing?? It has suction on the bottom so it sticks to your table. I am thinking this is going to be way easier for classes than lugging the cuttlebug around...

Birthday Cupcakes

Hooooray! Got my SU order this week, and in it was the Big Bold Cupcakes Sizzix Sizzlits set that I had been waiting for.
Conveniently enough I had some birthday cards to make this week, so I got to try it out :)

I am also trying to improve my paper piercing skills, so you can see some of that here as well...

I ran the bottom of the cupcake through the crimper after I cut it out, and the top I used the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder.

This card is a CASE from the May Stampin' Success magazine (Page 9 if you have it).

Hard to tell here, but the mustard card is 5x5 and the brown is 4x4...

Thinking I might use this card for our 2nd Annual SC get together shoebox swap in the fall...

Care package for a friend...

I'll be sending off a "care package" of flavoured hot chocolate to a friend in the US this week.
Here's the card I made to go with it...

Variations on Punch Cards

Tried something a bit different with a few of the punch cards from this week's class. I made them up for a few ladies at work who had been unable to attend the class.
Here are revised versions of the punch butterfly and sunflower cards:

Pomegranate Butterfly

Last one for tonight, I promise...I am getting tired :)
Pomegranate butterfly...
Today's challenge on Stampin' Canada was to make a card using cuttlebug borders...well hey, I have some of those and have never used them before tonight, perfect :)
So here's my challenge card...

Punch Art Part 3...

Punch sunflower, fourth card for our punch art class tomorrow...
Lucky me, I won a prize from my fabulous SU upline and got to use the stamp set and punch on this card :) Thanks ML!!!

Punch Art Part 2

Punch butterfly...one more card to go :)

Punch Art Class

Tomorrow (Thursday) is our Punch Art class...

Here are the first two samples of the cards we'll be making

"Hang in There Monkey" - on the card we'll make tomorrow the monkey is hanging from the ribbon from a little wooded clothes pin, I had to take the clothes pin off to scan him :)

"Punched Purses"

5th Avenue Class - May 5, 2009

Attended a class with my SU upline last night - the fabulous ML :)
This class featured cards made with the the Fifth Avenue Floral set, which I am really excited about because I just ordered it :)

Here are the three we made last night:

Watercoloured lilies:

Love this colour combination!!

This one amost has the look of paper tole, we stamped painted and cut out three of the roses to achieve this look. This one is going to be my MIL's Mother's Day card...shhhhhhhhh :)

Dhalia flower

Here's another punch card we'll be making this week. This one is for a co-worker who is celebrating her birthday on May 5...Happy Birthday Tatiana!!
The picture isn't great, took it with my blackberry...but you get the idea.

This fold took me some time to master, many thanks to Barb who gave me much better instructions than what I was trying (unsuccessfully) to follow.

Punch Art

This week I am doing a punch art class...all of the cards we make will feature something made using punches.
Here's the first sample...dress and purse, punches make things so easy :)

Babies, babies, babies...

Two of my co-workers are expecting babies in the next few months.

I am always sooo excited when I get to make the card for their work showers...I love making baby cards!!

This one is a take on the onsie cards that you have probably seen me make before, 40 of us have to sign the card, to this one is a full 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper with the onsie cut out on the front...all in all I am pretty happy with how it came out

Happy Birthday Brother!!

My "little" brother celebrated a birthday in April.

He's quite the poker pro, so I thought he might like something with hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades...here it is, what do you think??
